But wouldn’t it be great to know how they are when you are not with them. The Jagger & Lewis smart dog collar device tracks your dog’s behavior and activity, and shares updates with you directly through the companion app. Unlike other smart devices for dogs, the device attaches to your dog’s collar and transforms it into a smart collar.                    When you first use Jagger & Lewis, you will need to pair the device with the smartphone app, available on iOS and Android. We will then ask you a few questions through the app to get to know your dog – such as age, type, weight and normal food intake.This information is then put into our welfare algorithm and we will start monitoring your dog’s activity and health.       You know your dog best, so we’ll also ask you about their general characteristics – are they calm or active? Do you leave them with a bowl of water at night? Where does your dog tend to sleep, and for how long? Do they have any illnesses? Where do they live, and do other animals live with them? Once the app has this data, your dog behavior and well-being is compared with similar dogs in our database. This allows you spot anything out of the ordinary and react immediately.     For example, if your dog barks all day when you’re not home, every day you’ll be able to track how our suggestions have impacted their behavior change. Learning that your dog barks less than usual or not at all will help you understand them better, improve their welfare, your well-being, and certainly your neighbor’s, too!       Unlike other smart collars for dogs, you simply clip the small device onto the collar you already use. It’s small enough to not cause any discomfort to your dog, but smart enough to keep you updated at all times. We know that many owners have a special collar for their dog already, and so this way they get to keep wearing their favorite collar! With every movement, our sensors record more than 50 pieces of data per second that are then processed through the onboard neural network.   The data is sent by wifi to our servers and analyzed depending on your type of dog. We’ve built a database over the past year to be able to study more than 300 dog types. The datas are then introduced into our welfare algorithm which has been created by veterinarians. Your dog’s profile and datas are compared against his usual behavior and with similar dogs to evaluate their daily behavior and their well-being value.  Through the app, you are provided with advice on how to improve their welfare.     We know that we can’t always be with our dog. Jagger & Lewis was designed with this in mind – it’s often when they aren’t with us that we worry most about our dogs. Whether you’re at work, on holiday or your dog is with a dog sitter, we’ve got it covered! Once the smart collar device is worn by your dog and connected to our smartphone app, there are three modes to choose from: away mode, guest mode and challenges.     The Jagger & Lewis smart collar device also assists vets in understanding your dog’s behavior away from the vet’s surgery. Simply share the behavior report with them via the smartphone app, and they will have access to information about your dog’s behavior over a given period that can aid them in making the right diagnosis and prescribing the right treatment. If a low-level threat has been detected, the app screen will turn yellow Users trapped in flooded areas can send a rescue signal to the emergency center with the click of a button In the past, emergency service personnel have struggled to find people who have survived floods and other disasters. Our app will allow users to send an emergency signal with the click of a button. All nearby emergency professionals will be alerted to the user’s exact location. The technology we’re relying on will work even when GPS and GPRS signals and smartphone batteries are at their weakest. During periods when mobile internet connectivity is limited, users can navigate their way to safety using the compass function built into our app. We’ll alert users as soon as they’ve reached the safe zone All relevant local news in one convenient location We will tap into a global network of buoys using the cloud database. This information will provide us with all of the necessary details of each tsunami, including speed, direction and height. Our servers will also process the topographic onshore and offshore landscapes of the coasts, enabling them to calculate which parts of each shore will likely be hit by flooding.  This was made possible by advances in tsunami technology that have been used to identify tsunami hazard zones. Using these hazard maps, we are able to guide people out of harm’s way and let them know when they are in a safe zone. In order for the app to work properly on an Android of IOS smartphone, it’s crucial that users allow push notifications from the outset. From that point on, the app will remain dormant until needed, consuming about 1% of battery power each day. The app will remain dormant either until it receives a notification from the server or until the user opens it.  We only need to receive 100KB of data in order to assess the key risk parameters, so even a bad GPRS connection shouldn’t be an obstacle for the users seeking risk updates. Users will receive push notifications with yellow alerts the moment our servers receive the respective alerts from the buoy database.  Further calculating the parameters of flooded zones and sending further push notifications about the real risk for each user would take about 2-3 minutes. Calculating the route to the safe zone will require more data traffic than the initial messages, but if there is shortage of GPRS signal (due to earthquake damages of cell phone stations, for example) the user can still use the app’s built-in compass to navigate his or her way to safety. Depending on the circumstances of each event and the location of the user, their individualized safe-route may lead further inland, uphill or to the roof of a tall building. What’s more, you can use our app during any sort of flooding. Whether the floods are caused by a tsunami, a hurricane or any other disaster, stranded users can tap the app’s SOS button to be immediately connected with all relevant emergency professionals in the vicinity. With one tap of the button, all nearby emergency professionals will be alerted to the user’s exact location. Thus, users can focus on tending to their immediate needs rather than calling 911 and attempting to discern their own whereabouts.  The technology we’re relying on will work even when GPS and GPRS signals and smartphone batteries are at their weakest. The app needs only about 100KB of data to send over the SOS signal to the emergency center. TheTsunami app is ready from the client’s side. All we need now to make it work properly is to gather the funds required to fine-tune the server with the flooding prediction model for each user and to gain secure access to the buoy network. We are also in negotiations with several charitable foundations to sponsor the app so as to make it free for end users or as cheap as possible. Our main goal is to save as many lives as possible, but in order to provide each individual with a personal rescue plan, our server expenses will be enormous, so we have to raise funds either via subscription fees, or via charitable donations. Not bad.                         IvoryBoards To ensure our riders are safe on our board we have included several safety features. The first of which is integrating ‘Low’ and ‘High’ power settings to allow users to ride based on their skill level by adjusting the board’s acceleration and speed. Next, we integrated front lights so that you can have a clear view at night and stay visible to cars. We then equipped the board with regenerative braking which allows for descents to be safely navigated as well as for riders to safely travel alongside other vehicles. Finally, the board was designed to be water resistant meaning you can ride it knowing that a wet patch or a bit of rain won’t ruin it.         Dual Hub Motors We wanted the IvoryBoard to work exactly like a standard longboard when powered off, so we built the motors directly into the wheels rather than using a belt system. This hub motor design allowed us to create a streamlined, efficient and frictionless ride that glides freely like a normal skateboard. This means that if the board runs out of power or you just feel like going old school, you can simply push it like a standard longboard for a smooth ride.  Ride It Like a Normal Longboard   Although the app for the board is currently in development, it still requires thorough testing to ensure its safety as well as approval from the Android and Apple app stores. As such, the application will become available to our users within 6 months of the end of our Kickstarter campaign.
