Gumball 3000 Ferry CHAOS in Greece! First Drive to the Start

The Gumball 3000 gets started from Mykons with the cars forming probably the most expensive ferry cargo load ever as they make their way to Athens for the start flag drop for the rally to be officially under way! However, before that, the carnage and chaos of the ferry gets things started.

Kicking off from the port on the Greek Island of Mykonos, there are around 100 Gumball 3000 cars that need to be loaded into the ferry to make it to Athens in time for the journey to really begin. However, this process was not quite so simple as it seems with the ferry boarding requiring a steep ramp angle that wasn’t so supercar friendly. With some time, all the cars are aboard and it’s over to the Greek mainland for a short drive to the capital.

Prior to the occasion I had no plan though for this, but fortunately Jordan of Team Skookum came to the rescue with his Verde HY-KERS Ferrari 812 Superfast – one of my favourite cars! You can find him and follow the rest of his adventures at: http://instagram.com/teamskookum

Mission complete then, the cars arrived in Athens and ready next for the Gumball 3000 to get underway in full for the 21st annual rally!

Thanks for watching, Tim

Cold and Hungry This Friendly Dog Was Waiting For Someone To Save Her

Rescue video of cold and hungry dog, happy to be saved by Howl Of A Dog. This friendly dog was found underweight, her paws were red and irritated because of the wet and cold concrete floor of that pound she was saved from, and she was suffering from intestinal infection. Receiving medical care, Harper recovered and she’s now healthy and becoming more cheerful every day: she loves to play with toys or run through the yard and she gets along well with other dogs and with cats. She is medium size (~20 kg / 44 lbs), around 2 yrs old, spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.
Harper is in our care at Howl Of A Dog, in Romania, but can also be adopted internationally in the US, Canada and Europe. If you’d like to welcome her into your family, please visit our website.
Thank you!

Update – March 2019: Harper has found a wonderful forever home in Germany. More updates and pictures are available here: https://www.howlofadog.org/harper-adopted-in-germany/ . Many thanks everyone for watching the video and helping us find such a great home for Harper!

SUMMARY:
– Cats have been domesticated for about 4,000 years! Before that, they were one of the greatest hunters feared by numerous species.
– A group of kittens is often called a kindle; a group of adult cats is called a clowder. A female cat is referred to as a queen, and a male cat is known as a tom.
– Cats only meow at humans. With other animals, they hiss, spit, and purr — but never meow. They also tend to greet each other by touching noses.
– The problem of acne is pretty common among cats. They usually end up developing blackheads on their chins, which is widely known as feline acne.
– Most cats tend to spend about two-thirds of their day sleeping. So the average 9-year-old cat has been fully awake for only 3 years of its life! Cats also spend about one-third of their waking hours cleaning themselves up.
– One of the reasons why cats clean themselves so often is to lick your scent off! When your cat rubs against you from nose to tail, it wants to mark you as its own.
– Cats have rather sensitive stomachs, so you should be very careful about your furry friend’s menu. Never give your cat onion, garlic, green tomatoes, chocolate, grapes, or raisins.
– Your cat always understands when you say its name…it just chooses to ignore you! Specialists believe this happens because, historically, cats haven’t been domesticated to listen to people’s orders — unlike dogs.
– A cat’s whiskers aren’t there to make them extra cute! They’re covered in numerous nerve cells and blood vessels.
– Cats have a special reflective layer in their eyes called the tapetum lucidum. This layer easily magnifies incoming light and allows cats to see around 6 times better than we do in the dark and low light.
– A cat’s heart beats way faster than ours with about 110 to 140 beats every single minute.
– A cat’s cerebral cortex contains 300 million neurons. Just for comparison, dogs have only around 160 million.
– It’s a natural instinct for a kitten to cover its poop. If your cat doesn’t do that, this is its way of showing you who’s the true head of the house.
– Back in 2007, a calico cat named Tama became a station master and greeted passengers at Kishi Station.
– Cats can easily jump about 6 times their own length! This is all thanks to the powerful muscles in their back legs, which allow them to jump onto any surface they like.
– Biologically, a cat’s brain is kinda similar to ours. We have almost identical brain regions that take care of our emotions, so there’s a chance that you and your furry friend feel the same way sometimes.
– In the cat world, the concept of left- or right-handedness is a thing too! Most cats are actually left-pawed!

20 Strange Cat Behaviors Explained!

Weirdest cat behaviors explained! These are the top strange cat behaviors and how to understand cats and weird cat behaviors explained!

Check out our online store for Tempt channel merchandise!
https://teespring.com/stores/tempt-youtube-channel

18. Random sprint – Does your cat run at a super fast speed and bounce off the couch out of nowhere? Don’t worry this is totally normal; cats can run up to 31 miles per hour, they’re just getting their exercise in for the day! Most house cats have an extreme amount of energy that gets pent up and needs to be released. If they don’t get regular exercise on their own, they might need some more playful attention to avoid random sprints around the house.

17. Unladylike sitting – Why do people sit in unladylike positions? Well because it’s comfortable of course. Same goes for cats; when they are sprawled out with their legs open, that means they’re simply relaxed, trusting you, and happy. This means they know they are safe so they can relax.

16. Brings you presents- A dead rodent or bug at your feet might not be what you always wanted, but there are lots of theories about why your cat insists on doing this. As a kitten their mother might have brought them back a dead prey, so that’s where they got it from. Paying them more attention when they do this might be encouraging this behavior. Maybe they’re being generous and saying thank you for feeding her or maybe sharing a successful hunt with you. This is them sharing what they caught with you as if you were a part of its real cat family. When cats are able to get more food than they need to eat, they might bring back extra kills to other members of the colony, especially kittens and nursing mothers. So your cat might just think you could use some help having enough to eat. Although this is a gross habit from a human’s perspective, don’t punish your cat for doing something that is only natural to them, because they don’t know any better. Instead try keeping them indoors, or put a bell on their collar to make it more difficult for them to catch prey.

10 Most Dangerous Cat Breeds That Are Still Awww

Cats are one of the most popular pets in the world. And they can be just as playful, cuddly, and friendly as their canine counterparts! Are you a cat person? Are you considering getting one? Well, you probably should leave the following 10 dangerous cat breeds off your list of potential candidates.

TIMESTAMPS:
Pallas’s cat 0:58
The Savannah 2:14
The Chausie 3:40
The Jungle cat 443
The Abyssinian 5:43
The British Shorthair 6:52
The Maine Coon 7:51
The Mekong Bobtail 8:48
The Siamese 9:43
The Bobcat 10:55

Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music

SUMMARY:
– The distinct trait of Pallas’s cat is its un-cat-like round eyes and pupils. The important question is: can you tame this kitty? The short answer is: no.
– The Savannah is a crossbreed between the African Serval and your common domestic house cat. It has a long neck, body, and legs with dark-brown to black spots all over its coat.
– Also known as the “Nile cat,” this breed is a cross between an Abyssinian domestic cat and a Jungle cat. Its wild ancestor, the Jungle cat, is the very one that the ancient Egyptians worshipped!
– The Jungle cat’s scientific name is Felis chaus, but it also goes by the “Swamp Lynx,” Swamp Cat,” or “Reed Cat.” While the name would have you think otherwise, this cat does not live in the jungle but rather in wetlands with dense vegetation.
– The Aby is one of the oldest domesticated cat breeds. Believed to originate from Abyssinia, which is modern-day Ethiopia, most experts nowadays site Egypt as the breed’s place of origin.
– If you’re familiar with the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland or Puss in Boots in Shrek, then you’ve definitely met some of the on-screen representations of the British Shorthair. This breed can weigh up to 20 pounds and lives up to about 20 years.
– The Maine Coon is a large breed that can weigh up to 20 pounds or more. It also received celebrity status as “Mrs. Norris” in the Harry Potter movies.
– The Mekong Bobtail can weigh up to 10 pounds and has a lifespan of up to 18 years. And, of course, we can’t forget to mention this breed’s most unique feature: its tiny little bobbed tail!
– The Siamese is the most talkative and opinionated cat out there! It demands to be entertained and showered with attention 24/7. It can be pretty cautious around strangers and outright naughty when left alone at home!
– Known as Lnyx rufus in the scientific community, the Bobcat is a nocturnal animal with a natural habitat in the wild. Yet some people are brave (or silly) enough to make them pets.

🇺🇸 Walls of Shame: The US-Mexican Border l Featured Documentaries

A border of more than 3,000 kilometres separates the US from Mexico – but it is defined not only by physical barriers made of concrete and steel but by an immigration policy which is failing to address the issues behind illegal migration. Despite the US spending billions of dollars on border enforcement, the lure of work sees illegal migrants enter the country at a rate of 850,000 a year. A series of walls along the Mexican border were designed to stem this flow but based on current estimates it has failed. Instead, the walls have re-routed human traffic into remote desert areas where people risk their lives in deadly conditions attempting to enter the US. This film shows what US immigration policy looks like on the ground for the people making the perilous journey for a better life, and for the Americans who call this borderland home. Update: Since this film first aired on Al Jazeera English in 2007, the US continued to increase spending on border security. At no other time in history has there been as many border patrol officers on duty as there are today. And now the authorities are bracing for a new challenge: children. Since 2014, the number of families and unaccompanied children apprehended at the border keeps skyrocketing. Young people are filling family detention centres near the border, having fled poverty or extreme violence in Central America. And today the issue is taking centre stage in this US presidential election, with Donald Trump calling for more walls, leading some migrants to say they will cross the border now before it may be too late.

Warriors’ only competition in the NBA is the Celtics and Raptors – Stephen A. | First Take

Stephen A.Smith states his case that the only competition the Golden State Warriors will face this season is from the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors, however Stephen A. doesn’t expect any of these teams to win a series against Golden State. Will Cain argues that the only thing standing in the Warriors’ way is themselves, citing Kevin Durant’s emotions, Draymond Green’s mouth and DeMarcus Cousins trying to fit in with the team.

Camera trap evidence in the Canadian Yukon shows snowshoe hares eat meat and are cannibals. A Canadian scientist discovered the phenomenon by accident while monitoring forest carcasses. The two-and-a-half-year long study found that hares ate from 20 of 161 carcasses—including birds, lynx, and even other hares. Hares likely eat meat to supplement their diets during subzero winter temperatures. The research is broadening scientists’ understanding of the fluidity of the herbivore diet.
