13 SHOCKING ANIMALS THAT WERE FROZEN IN ICE!

13 SHOCKING ANIMALS THAT WERE FROZEN IN ICE!
At a certain point in life, every living creature has experienced cold weather. For some, cold habitats are usual and not challenging at all. For others, they represent a destructive power, which is extremely difficult to overcome. However, no terrestrial animal, no matter how strong or resistant to cold, can survive in really cold water for a long time.
And sometimes, people from all corners of the world find amazing, impressive and, frankly, rather scary things in the ice, and today you will learn about them. Get ready for the most shocking stories of animals that fell victim to the treacherous ice.

15 Most Venomous Animals on Earth

Perhaps the most common fear that all humans share is the fear of venomous animals. In fact, the fear of spiders and snakes are the two most commonplace phobias. Usually this fear is misplaced as the vast majority of snakes and spiders are completely harmless, however, I’m afraid that this video won’t help abate any fears you currently hold. Some of you may end up avoiding certain parts of the world because of some of the animals mentioned. The animals on this list are ordered by increasing subcutaneous LD50 (Lethal Dose 50%), so the further up the list we go, the smaller the amount of venom it would take to potentially end your life.

Endangered Species Day – May 17, 2019

A mother and baby pair of #CriticallyEndangered Sunda pangolins return to the wild! Pangolins, the most trafficked mammal in the world, are a gold mine for poachers in Southeast Asia. The Cardamom Mountains holds an important population of this species in Cambodia but hunting is causing populations to decline. Wildlife Alliance rangers intercepted a poacher on a motorbike transporting this mother #pangolin and pup. The animals were scared and dehydrated but overall were healthy. The rangers released the pangolins the same day in a highly protected area of the Cardamom Rainforest. It took a while for the mother to relax and uncurl from a ball, but eventually walked away with her baby on her back.

Swift Parrots | An Endangered Species’ Remarkable Recovery

Swift parrots are one of Australia’s most charismatic birds, but also one of its most endangered. Each year every swift parrot in the nation flies south to Tasmania to breed. Logging and land-clearing have decimated their habitat but conservation biologist, Dejan Stojanovic, also made the startling discovery of why the parrot numbers were plummeting so rapidly – a very unlikely predator – the deceptively sweet sugar glider was eating them.

In a race against time, Dejan and his team raised thousands of dollars through social media to save the parrot. Reporter, Mark Horstman, returns to Bruny Island in Tasmania to witness their remarkable recovery.

#9 Deep Sea Dragonfish
This is definitely an odd fish since it looks more like an eel. The creature has no scales, and its skin is slimy and slippery. And living up to its name, this animal has a terrifying face and a mouth filled with enormous teeth. Experts say the creature uses bioluminescence as a means of communication or to camouflage itself. It can attract prey with a glowing barbel (or whisker) that is used as a lure. And it provides some light in the dark, cold waters 6,000 feet below the surface (1,828m).

#8 Goblin Shark
Just the appearance of this beast might be deadly enough to kill an aggressor. This creature’s best known physical trait is its scary mouth. It has jaws that pop out of its mouth to snare prey with sharp, nail-like teeth. It’s been noted before how the effect is reminiscent of the Xenomorph in the Alien movies. Since they dwell in cold waters that are nearly 5,000 feet deep (1,370 meters), they’re not seen so often. Maybe that’s a good thing.

#7 Black Scabbardfish
They have a scary look to go along with that intimidating name. The eel-like creatures can weigh up to 15 pounds (7 kg) and measure close to 4 feet (1.2 m). Their large snouts contain fanglike choppers used for preying on cephalopods, crustaceans and other fish. They can typically live at depths from 600 feet (122 m) to more than 5,000 feet deep (1524 m). Because of that extreme depth, fishermen have to use specialized deepwater lines to catch the fish.

#6 Lizardfish
They’re usually small, but certain species can reach almost 2 feet (61 cm) in length. They’re called lizardfish due to their body shape which is cylindrical and slender, not unlike a lizard’s. This creature has dark, scaly skin and a mouthful of needle-like teeth, which includes the sharp teeth on its tongue. They’re often found in shallow coastal waters, although some species live at depths of 1300 feet (396 m). When living in sandy environments, lizardfish can camouflage themselves by changing their body colors.

#5 Deepwater Stingray
The very name of this critter lets you know that it’s found in deep waters, typically more than 2,200 feet (680 m) below the surface. But they can hunt prey from the seafloor to the open water as they search for bony fishes and crustaceans. This species can reach nearly 9 feet long (2.7 m) and 5 feet wide (1.5 m), and is found throughout the Indo-Pacific. They’re known to have powerful tails, which can pose a danger to humans. If these rays are caught by fisheries, they can start flailing their long, venomous stingers which could inflict some considerable damage.

#4 Northern Stargazer
Not only do these critters have some scary features, but they also have some scary abilities. They are venomous, and certain species can generate electric shocks to discourage predators. You might think that their frightening appearance would help to scare off aggressors as well, but it doesn’t serve that function. The animals have top mounted eyes which allow them to watch overhead for prey while they stay buried in the seafloor sand.

#3 Tiger Shark
The dark striping of these apex predators inspires the comparison to the big cats. While they’ll typically swim at depths of 1,148 feet (350 meters) below the surface, they’ll also appear near the coastline. These animals are infamous for their voracious appetite and will consume anything from crustaceans and dolphins to sea snakes and man-made objects that are inedible. They can pose a danger to humans due to their habit of entering shallow waters. Did you know that tiger sharks were said to be responsible for ten deaths along the coast of Hong Kong during four years in the 1990s?

#2 Colossal Squids
These cephalopods are regarded as the world’s largest known invertebrates, as measured by mass. And they possess the largest eyes known within the animal kingdom, measuring up to 16 inches in diameter (41 cm), or about the size of a dinner plate. The largest specimen caught to date weighed nearly 1,100 pounds (499 kg) while measuring around 15 feet (4.6 m) long, But experts think the creatures could potentially attain dimensions that are much greater than that. They inhabit cold water environments exceeding 7,000 feet (2.2 km) which explains their deep sea gigantism (jie-GAN-tiz-um). The squid’s arms and tentacles have sharp, deadly hooks used to capture prey. But they often serve as prey for larger animals like beaked whales.

Arthropleura (arthra-ploo-ra)– This was an ancestor to millipedes and centipedes, and could grow up to 8 feet long … although some sources claim it could grow even longer. Contrast that size to a modern day centipedes which go around 10 inches long. They could also measure several feet wide, which would make for a scary sight to say the least. Because of its massive size, it’s thought the creature had few predators, despite it being an invertebrate … it is in fact, the largest invertebrate species ever uncovered — by a wide margin. Arthropleura looked like it could be a predator itself, but it was actually a herbivorous arthropod. And fossilized evidence indicates it could move pretty fast across the forest floor, swerving to avoid rocks and trees. It lived around 300 million years ago throughout present day North America and Scotland.

Meganeura (mega-noor-uh)
Best described as a giant dragonfly, these creatures existed around 300 million years ago are are related to the present day insects. Did you know they could be the size of birds? Their fossils were initially found in France in 1880, and have since been found in England. One genus (JEE-nus) is thought to have been the largest insect that ever lived … with a length around 17 inches and a wingspan exceeding 2 feet. Can you imagine a dragonfly feeding on prey as big as squirrels or frogs? Experts say that this creature did just that!

Monster Sea Scorpion
Fossils of Jaekelopterus (jay-kel-OP-ter-us) indicate the creature lived around 390 million years ago. Measuring over 8 feet, a single pincer was more than 18 inches long. No wonder that J.rhenaniae (reh-NAY-nee) is thought to be the largest known arthropod yet discovered. Their size makes them larger that eurypterids (yoo-RIP-tuh-rids) … a group that is related to the scorpions and land spiders of today. Today, the coconut crab and Japanese spider crab are among the largest living arthropods in the world.

Haast’s Eagle
This is the largest species of eagle that was ever known to exist … and the females were significantly larger than the males. They could weigh up to 36 pounds, with a wingspan approaching 10 feet …And were found on the South Island of New Zealand, where the birds are commonly accepted as part of Maori (MAO-ree) legend. The eagles preyed on large flightless bird species, including the Moa, which was 15 times its weight … Striking at speeds up to 50 mph. When human hunters arrived in New Zealand, they also preyed on the large flightless birds there. Haast’s Eagle became extinct about 1,400 years ago after its natural food source disappeared.

Megalodon is the legendary prehistoric shark that measured up to 60 feet long and weighed around 65 tons … but some estimates put those numbers even higher. Did you know scientists have calculated the ancient predator could have exerted a bite force of more than 18 tons!

Titanoboa — Fossils of this creature were found in Colombia … and indicate the creature would have measured over 40 feet long and weighed around 2,500 pounds. They would have been found slithering about some 60 million years ago.

Mosasaurus (moe-suh-SORE-us)
Like plesiosaurs, these were marine reptiles, not technically dinosaurs. But going nearly 60 feet long, this was thought to be about the biggest of the lot. Experts say that the carnivorous critter resembled an immense crocodile … and would have been one of the deadliest creatures alive during the Cretaceous Period. Mosasaurs are closely related to lizards of today, like the Komodo Dragon. The creatures were believed to chase down prey by using their powerful, shark-like tails. And they were evidently well-traveled animals as well. Their fossils have been found on every continent, including Antarctica. You might recall this creature being the breakout star of “Jurassic World” in 2015 … although some experts said too many liberties were taken with the animal’s portrayal.

Shark Attacks our Giant Tuna

In this episode, I go fishing offshore with Carl from Slob City Fishing Charters using live bait to catch kingfish, sailfish, dolphin, and blackfin tuna. We used four kite baits and several flat-lined baits. Our first bite was a solid kingfish (estimated around 25-30lbs). Shortly after, we caught a dolphin (mahi-mahi), two smaller kingfish and a mutton snapper! While Carl was reeling in a kingfish, one of the flat lines started bending! Sailfish on! While I was fighting the sailfish, a hammerhead shark appeared out of nowhere and ate Carl’s kite bait. Carl nearly got spooled by the hammerhead! As I was landing the sailfish, the hammerhead broke the line on Carl’s reel. Later in the day, Carl hooked another hammerhead shark, but unfortunately, this shark broke the fishing line as well! At the end of the day, both Carl and I hooked two fish that we believed were tuna. I managed to catch mine before Carl; it turned out to be a bonito (false albacore). Carl got his fish to the boat; it was a giant blackfin tuna (over 30lbs)!! A sandbar shark attacked the blackfin tuna and nearly took half the fish! We worked all day to get that tuna bite, and at the end, the shark ended up taking half of the fish. We still had a great day on the water and caught a bunch of excellent fish!!

Most MYSTERIOUS Discoveries Made In Egypt!

Check out the Most MYSTERIOUS Discoveries Made In Egypt! This top 10 list of recent bizarre ancient archaeological discoveries from egypt is still baffling scientists to this day!

10. Mystery Heads
Finding disembodied heads underground in an Ancient Egyptian tomb sounds like something from a horror movie. But don’t worry, they’re not real heads. As for what they were doing there, the jury’s still out. The heads are a bit of a mystery to this day. The first examples were discovered in 1894 and since then, over 30 have been located. They were nicknamed ‘reserve heads’ because… well, they looked like a bunch of spare heads!

9. The Giza Void
It’s amazing how even the oldest landmarks can still surprise you. In 2017 experts were very surprised when examining the legendary Great Pyramid of Giza on the West Bank of the Nile. As you may know, but just in case you don’t this ancient wonder of the world was built for Pharaoh Khufu and is the largest one of 3.

8. Kites
Mysterious lines in the Egyptian deserts have been seen from the air for around a century. Everyone was wondering what they were! It turns out, they’re made up of little stone walls, not very high at all, in a kite-style formation. Some of them are as long as 40 miles. Even more mysterious was the fact that they lead toward a pit in the sand.

7. King Tut’s Mummy
One of the great mysteries of Ancient Egypt is the circumstances surrounding the death of Tutankhamun. Howard Carter found his legendary tomb in 1922 and made him a historical superstar. What’s maybe not as well known is that King Tut died very young, while in his teens.

6. Black Boxes
If you thought the Great Pyramid of Giza sounded mysterious, wait till you hear about what was found in Memphis! In a cave network 12 miles away from Giza, 24 big black boxes were found. They weigh 100 tons each and are so unusual that some believe them to be alien artefacts!

5. Lost Labyrinth
In the vicinity of the Middle Egyptian city of Faiyum, 100 km (62 miles) southwest of Cairo, there is an area known as Faiyum Oasis. Supposedly, there lies what’s left of one of the most immense and talked-about structures of Ancient Egypt… the mysterious Lost Labyrinth.

4. That’s a Wrap
Though people don’t know a lot about Ancient Egypt, there are certain things everybody knows about, hopefully. Egypt is famous for its pyramids and also the mummies. Examples have been found of mummies that don’t look the way you’d expect. Take this one in the Louvre museum in Paris. It’s an exhibit in the long-established Department of Egyptian Antiquities, which is made up of an impressive 30 rooms showcasing all manner of finds.

3. The Dendera Light
While we believe the light bulb is a relatively modern invention, some commentators would dispute this. In fact they’d go so far as to say the Ancient Egyptians had access to a power source that gave them things like electric light way before it was officially invented!

2.Exploding Pyramid
So I just mentioned a possible power supply in ancient Egypt. But what if I told you about
another theory on this subject that takes place on a MUCH bigger scale? It all revolves around that classic image we associate with the time… a pyramid.

1. The Building of the Pyramids
I know, we’ve talked a lot about pyramids but this is a video about Ancient Egypt! What did you expect? After many, many years, the question still is, how did the pyramids get built in the first place? The construction of these mighty structures is a matter of ongoing debate between pros and amateurs alike.

Burmese pythons have an established permanent breeding population in South Florida and belong to the “new” apex predators of the Everglades today. Top predators like the american crocodiles and american alligators prey regularly on all kinds of reptiles, including pythons. An adult alligator will have little trouble to overpower, kill and eat any juvenile and in some cases even an adult constrictor. Nevertheless, a fully grown Burmese Python can reach over twenty feet in lengths and becomes extremely dangerous prey item for most crocodilians including the American Alligator. These large constrictors have not much to fear and will feed on most animals they come across (including alligators) when hungry. Python vs Alligator was filmed by Heiko Kiera aka Ojatro near the Everglades in 2009.

Endangered Cat Herding in Florida

CAT HERDING FOR CONSERVATION: Newly released body-camera footage from a Florida Fish and Wildlife officer shows wildlife agents engaged in bit of cat herding.

After discovering that an endangered Florida panther was trapped on the wrong side of fence between the highway and a wildlife refuge, officers temporarily shut down the highway. Then — using their bodies, a truck and a few loud calls to “Get!” — they slowly corralled the cat toward an opening in the fence, where it quickly fled to safety.

Thirty panther deaths were reported in Florida in 2018. According to state records 26 of those death were from vehicle strikes.

Amazing nature: Run to survive

In a land of dangers, plant-eating animals are always at risk, and never more so than at the time of their birth; out on the open they are vulnerable and there are few places to hide. But luckily some are born to run…
Out on the African plains life can get off to a shaky start. Millions of baby wildebeests, zebras and antelopes are born at the same time. All of them must struggle to their feet in minutes. They must master their legs and be ready to run with the herd. If they don’t they will be picked off by predators like lions, cheetahs, or crocodiles.
Whatever their role in life, little ones will face one challenge after another, whether it’s trying to keep up with the herd during migration, getting stuck in the mud during a drought, being separated from its mother, panicking in bad weather, or even coming face to face with a predator.
The point will come in every young animal’s life when the skills it learned will be put to good use. One of the most powerful wake-up calls to the harsh reality of nature comes to a young wildebeest during its migration. A dramatic river crossing, where there are more than just fast currents and steep banks to deal with – a river teaming with crocodiles. One by one his herd mates are picked off by the great reptiles, but when his time comes he proves he was born to run!
