SUMMARY
– Purring is the way a cat expresses love! According to scientists, purring can also be a sign of worry or discomfort, but if your cat is purring by your side, you can be sure that they are expressing their attachment to you!
– If your cat is following you at your heels, it means she likes your company.
– If provoked when you play with him, the cat might start to chew lightly on the “opponent’s” hand. But this is just playful fighting.
– Cats are known for being possessive and jealous, but this is also how they demonstrate tenderness and attention.
– When your cat extends her tail straight up and bends only the tip, this is a sign of curiosity and friendly attitude towards you. Another explanation is that the cat feels particularly playful and wants to have some fun with you.
– Cats are a little like many men: if they can’t take their eyes off of you, it means they love you!
– Cats do this when they feel comfortable, content and happy. It may be as well an invitation to rub their tummy – a great gift to you in any cat’s opinion.
– Some people wake up to the variety of cat toys spread around on their bed. Others find “gifts” from cats, such as paper balls or sweets covers, in their boots. A few lucky ones get once-alive presents: mice, insects or baby-snakes.
– If your cat nestles his head against you, juts his forehead into your forehead, neck or leg, it’s a good sign! He is just showing that he considers you someone close to him.
– So why does your cat knead you? There might be two reasons: she is trying to find the most comfortable place to fall asleep or at least to arrange it. Or she is trying to tell you how happy she is to be with you and in this case the kneading is a sign of affection.
Tail straight up: your cat feels friendly, happy and content.
– Tail raised back at an angle: your cat feels unsure but not aggressive.
– Tail straight up, quivering: it is an excellent sign – your cat is happy to see you.
– Thrashing tail: it can mean several strong emotions, from strong interest and ecstasy from being petted to anger and aggression. You need to watch other body signs.
– Bristled tail: your cat is scared, sees some threat and is in defensively aggressive posture.
– Tail entwined around another cat, object or your hand; it’s an analogy of people’s hug – cats show their friendship this way!

How to read your cat 😺 Cat body language – decode your cat 🐱

Have you ever wondered what your cat is trying to say and decode their body language? Here we breakdown the basic tell signs and explain what they mean:

1. Meowing – Cats meow to each other as kittens but they stop when they become adults. The cat’s meow is her way of communicating with people. Each cat’s meow is individually tailored to her owner – so only you will be able to correctly guess what your cat wants.

2. Purring – When cats purr we presume that they are relaxed and happy. Whilst this is true 90% of the time; however cats also purr when they are anxious or stress to calm themselves down. It has been found that purring has certain health benefits and can promote bone and tissue regeneration.

3. Look into your cats eyes to see how they are feeling. If their pupils are dilated it means that their mental activity level is increased and they are focusing and ready to pounce. This could also mean that they aggressive. If the pupils are slit like it means that the cat is in vegetative, ambient or even predatory state. Semi closed eyes mean that the cat us in a more dozy, complacent mood and maybe ready for a nap. If the cat is slow- blinking at you – it is a sign of faith and trust.

4. Cats feel the world around them with their whiskers. If a cat’s whiskers are pulled back – cat is alarm. If whiskers are pointed sideways – cat is relaxed. If they point forward – a cat is excited and is looking for a prey.

5. Ears tell a lot – If cat’s ears are turned sideways or back – this cat is feeling nervous or anxious. Ears flat against the head is a sign that a cat is scared and feeling defensive or angry.

6. A tail tells all – An actively twitching tail means that a cat is uneasy or fed up. If the tail is thrashing – the cat is furious. An upright tail is a sign that they are social and happy to see you. Cats often sit with their tail wrapped around their body. It can be a defensive sign to tell others to stay away and confusingly it can also be a sign that a cat is relaxed.

7. When a cat is head butting they are marking you as “safe” to be around. Basically, if a cat head butts you, she is extremely content and greeting you with love and affection.

How to train a kitten to play gently – Cat training tips

Kittens are impossibly cute and playful–unless play results in bites and scratches. Here’s how to train your kitten to play gently, according to cat expert Dr. Katherine Miller of the ASPCA.

HOW TO UNDERSTAND YOUR CAT BETTER

How to understand your cat? 🐱 How to make friends with your cat? 😍 Everyone knows that cats are the most illogical and unpredictable pets. Just try to work out what’s going through that furry little head!

It turns out that cats have their own language, and if you learn it there’s a chance you’ll understand them much better. We’ve put together all of the possible cat behaviors to help you find a common language with your pet (well, if it allows you to).

Also, we’ve prepared three essential tips that will help you communicate with cats better.

HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CAT
• How to make your cat trust you
Lowering your cat to the ground, make sure its paws have reached the floor. Your cat will trust you and know that it won’t tumble if you let it go.
• How to stroke your cat
If you sit on the floor with your legs crossed and look at your cat, it will interpret this as a friendly gesture and come up to you to let you stroke it.
Also, stretch your hand out in its direction. Your middle finger should be a little lower than the others. The cat will start rubbing its nose or face against your hand.
• How to make your cat appear
A cat may go and hide and only appear when it’s alone or hears a calm voice.

Cat’s interaction with people 4:38
Cat gestures 6:14
Cat language 6:57
How to communicate with your cat better 8:09

MAIN CAT GESTURES
• If a cat raises its nose up and throws its head, it’s saying, “I see you.” Cats often make this gesture to people walking past the window. Have you ever noticed it?
• A cat might press its ears against its head if it feels scared, worried, or wants to play. They also do this when they are sniffing something that’s interested them.
• When a cat sticks its tongue out slightly and licks itself, it’s worried or anxious.

CAT LANGUAGE
• Cats generally greet people or announce their presence with a short sound.
• Lengthy meowing indicates that your cat is very glad to see you. This occurs if you’re away from home for a long time.
• A medium-length meow might be a request for water or food.
• A long sound (a mix of purring and meowing) is a more insistent request or demand.
• A low meow is a complaint or indication of dissatisfaction. Also, it might mean your cat is ready to fight.
• A loud sound often indicates an urgent demand (for instance, you cat needs more food).
• A purring or vibrating sound indicates a desire for closer contact or attention. Cats purr for various reasons, but most often they do it when they are happy.

Now you know how to find a common language with any cat. By the way, are you a cat person or a dog person?
Hit the like button for cats, and leave a short comment if you are in love with dogs!

If Your Cat Acts Strangely, Don’t Worry. Here’s the Explanation!

“Cats live for themselves,” – Rudyard Kipling claimed. They aren’t inclined to become attached to others. Unlike dogs, which wag their tails and run up to you for a hug, cats are much more reserved. Their owners can only guess what their furry companions are feeling.
It’s time to decode all the hidden signals cats give out. If you think your pet acts strangely, don’t worry! Perhaps they just show you their love! So cross your fingers and watch the video until the end. There you will find a useful bonus – how to understand your cat’s emotions by its tail! Here we go: your cat truly loves you if…

TIMESTAMPS
If a cat purrs so much, you can’t sleep 0:49
If a cat follows you everywhere 1:26
If a cat nibbles your skin 1:51
If a cat sticks close to you and winds herself around your legs 2:19
If a cat bends the tip of her tail when she looks at you 2:44
If a cat has a staring contest with you 3:11
If a cat isn’t afraid to show his belly 3:46
If a cat brings you gifts 4:16
If a cat comes up close and face-to-face with you 4:45
If a cat gives you a massage 5:17

12 Things Your Dog Hates About You

Do you want to understand your dog better? Did you know that most of the dogs don’t like when you pat their heads? Here are 12 of these annoying habits that your beloved pets don’t like at all.
When you get a dog, your life becomes way more fun. Now you have a best friend, who’s waiting for you to come home every evening and lightens up your mood. No matter the circumstances every dog unconditionally loves his or her owner, but there are quite a few ways you can get your dogs mad without even realizing it.

TIMESTAMPS
Hugging your dog 0:44
Using words more than body language 1:11
Patting their heads 1:38
Keeping eye contact 2:05
Lacking rules and structure 2:40
Keeping them on a tight leash 3:05
Not letting them explore and smell 3:34
Forcing them to interact with dogs and people they don’t like 4:05
Being tense 4:38
Being boring 5:09
Exposing them to strong smells 5:34
Bathing them 6:10

SUMMARY
– The closest dogs get to the human hug is by putting their legs over the shoulders of others. But in the dog world, it is considered to be a controlling act.
– Since dogs can’t understand what we say, apart from maybe a few phrases, they need to read our gestures to figure out what is wanted of them. Always try to make small gestures, while explaining different commands to your dog.
– Many dogs don’t like when their personal space is invaded. Your pet realizes that it’s the act of love and approval; therefore, he or she would probably be happier if you would pet the back or rear instead of the head.
– Even if you’re trying to look friendly and smile, looking a dog right in the eyes without even blinking may be seen as the act of assertion and dominance. If you want to communicate with a new dog, don’t try to make a strong eye contact instantly.
– Sticking with structure and enforcing rules will comfort them and help build their trust in you. Plus, dogs don’t understand the concept of an exception.
– Dogs are masters at interpreting our thoughts and feelings through the leash. Holding it tightly signals to them that you are stressed, and it makes them uneasy too.
– If you don’t let your dog take some time to sniff around, it may well miss on a chance to soak up the world outside your door. Most of the dogs are fascinated with the outside world, and they try to use any opportunity to explore every little thing.
– Pushing a dog to face the fears and make contact with other dogs or strangers that they are afraid of or simply don’t want to interact with is often very counterproductive and can even be retaliated with a bite.
– Every pet gets very attached to his or her owner and even starts acting the same way sometimes. It’s no wonder that dogs and their owners sometimes have the same character.
– Dogs start to feel alone after a whole day by themselves, and when you finally come home, they need at least a little bit of your attention. So make sure you spend some joyful time with your loyal friend who has been waiting all day to see you.
– When you are planning to use anything that may disturb their smell, just do them a favor and remember to do it while they are a good distance away.
– Sometimes the bathtub floor also can be quite uncomfortable for your dog. Try placing a slip-resistant mat at the bottom of the tub to solve this problem. Use a shampoo that is formulated solely for canines, and be sure the water is warm but not hot.

Baby deer rescue and release

A deer doe abandoned one of her twin fawns, the fawn had injured leg and could not keep up with the mother.
I do not support keeping wild animals as a pets, but this was special situation. The baby deer was healed and released back to her real mother.
Update: The doe and two her fawns is still around, we seen them through the summer and the autumn.
Here is follow up video one year after release: https://youtu.be/GvRcix5-qVs
Here is few videos how she learn to drink milk and bathing:

I am thankful for every single person who liked, shared and left a comment. I didn’t expect this story to become so popular. I am sure that any of us with a little bit of a conscience about our existence, with love for the nature and animals would do the same.

Couch urinating Cat continues behavior on 3rd sofa!

It’s as if she get jealous of the couch and does it out of spite (she should call Alex for advice on jealousy) 🙂 . The measures to take after exhausting all resources is punishment!

HOW TO UNDERSTAND YOUR CAT BETTER

How to understand your cat? How to make friends with your cat? Everyone knows that cats are the most illogical and unpredictable pets.

TIMESTAMPS
Cat’s tail 0:52
Cat’s eyes 3:47

The Smallest Bird you have ever seen

By accident I got hold of two of the smallest eggs I have ever seen.
Should I incubate them?
Would I be able to raise a baby bird that would hatch from it?

The little bird is called a Wren. In my country it is the second smallest bird species there is.

It hatched so fast that I missed it.
The feeding was hard with my big human hands and very time-consuming. It took me about 80 feeding rounds per day to keep him healthy.
But in the end it worked.

More stories soon cool if you subscribe

The incubator I used is a MS incubator

10 Largest Dogs Ever You Won’t Believe Exist

Some breeds of dogs have been around since ancient times. Most dogs are bred for a lot of different things, from protecting livestock, and protecting their owners, to being faithful and loyal companions.

But in order for a dog to be protective, it’s should be bred with the size it needs to be effective. Join us as we take a look at 10 of the largest dogs ever.

1. Hulk, the Pit Bull – The name ‘Hulk’ fits this pit bull dog perfectly because he is a giant 175lbs, and stands on his hind legs almost 5 feet tall. And while he might seem big and scary, his owners say that he is very gentle and is even trusted around their young son.

2. Freddy, the Great Dane – It’s probably no surprise to many that the Great Dane is one of the largest breeds of dog in the world, but Freddy takes the breed to a whole new level of big. He stands 7ft 6 inches on his hind legs, 2 feet taller than his owner, and weighs 200lbs!

3. Zorba, the English Mastiff – This English Mastiff was a legend when it comes to some of the world’s biggest dogs. You may know that when it comes to the combination of weight and height, nothing can beat this breed of canine. Many Mastiffs average up to 190 pounds, but it’s not unusual for these giants to weigh around 225 pounds at full maturity.

4. CH Samson, the Neapolitan Mastiff – This breed of Mastiff, called ‘Mastino Napolitano’ is actually an ancient dog breed, and that might explain the size of this rare dog. CH Samson was one of the largest and heaviest Mastiffs and weighed a whopping 225 pounds at just two and a half years old.

5. Zeus the Great Dane – Zeus, who lived in Otsego, Michigan, was named the world’s tallest dog by the Guinness World Records in 2012. He measured an incredible 44 inches from his feet to the middle of his shoulder blades.

6. Newfoundland – Unlike many larger breeds, the Newfoundland wasn’t bred to be a guard dog. Instead, it was bred to help fishermen. These big, muscular dogs are able to haul nets and lines from boats, pull carts and, most importantly, fetch anything that falls overboard into the water, including people.

7. The Irish Wolfhound – Like the Scottish deerhound, the Irish wolfhound, as its name implies, was bred to chase down wolves. Developed from war hounds into a dog that was used for hunting and guarding, the Irish wolfhound is ancient breed of canine, and may have been brought to Ireland as far back as 7000 B.C.

8. Leonberger – This large breed of dog began as a mix between a Newfoundland and a Saint Bernard. In the mid-1840s, Heinrich Essig of Leonberg, Germany, crossed a Newfoundland with a Saint Bernard for four generations, then added in a Pyrenean Mountain Dog to the mix.

9. Caucasian Shepherd – This big dog was bred to do one thing only, and that is to protect sheep from wolves, and any other predator that dares attack a shepherd’s flock. However, these dogs can and have been used to protect other livestock.

10. The Anatolian Shepherd – This canine was bred to be a shepherd’s companion and livestock guardian. The interesting thing about them is that they were bred for their size and color so that they matched the livestock that they were protecting.

Cat got your tail?! Spaz and Tank

Spaz lives Amazon boxes and his black lab fur brothers tail! #amazonbox Cat got your tail Tank?! Amazon boxes and black lab fur brother’s tail…. does it get any better? #furchildren #kittycat #furbabies

HOW TO UNDERSTAND YOUR CAT BETTER

How to understand your cat? How to make friends with your cat? Everyone knows that cats are the most illogical and unpredictable pets.

The Steps of a Cat Behavior Consultation

Ingrid Johnson, CCBC, a certified cat behavior consultant with Fundamentally Feline, goes through the steps of a cat behavior consultation.

The first step of a behavior consultation is for the client to fill out an extensive behavior questionnaire so Johnson can better understand the different dynamics in the home. She then sets up either a home-visit or phone consultation. If a home visit is set up, Johnson takes a tour of the house to critic the home environment. Lastly, she creates a behavior modification plan specifically for that client.

Cats Eye View Of A Vet Visit

A video from Zen Pets looking at a vet visit from the cats perspective. There are several stressful events for cats which can be improved:
1. The carrier – most people only use the carrier when needed. It would be better to leave the carrier out at a height at home all the time with a nice blanket, tasty treats & toys making this a safe haven. Cats depend on feedback from their environment to tell them it is safe. They do this by rubbing their scent around the environment everyday. The carrier will be included as part of this safe environment if out all the time.
2. Balance – carry carriers from underneath & ensure they are level when travelling in the car. Cats have a more sensitive sense of balance than us & are more prone to motion sickness.
3. Keep your cats carrier of the ground when in the vets – they feel much safer at a height – remember cats are both predator & prey.
4. In the vets allow the cat to leave the carrier at its own pace or remove the top so that the cat can remain in its safe environment.
5. Bring tasty treats & toys to keep your cat distracted & reward calm behaviour.
6. Don’t force your cat i or out of the carrier – use tasty treats or toys to help get them in & out nicely.

The Biggest Myth About Integrative Veterinary Medicine

Narda G. Robinson, DO, DVM, MS, FAAMA, president and CEO of CuraCore Integrative Medicine and Education Centers, says the biggest myth she sees about integrative medicine arises from Chinese medicine. There are entrepreneurial incentives to promote acceptance of an outdated ideology that was developed in a prescientific era, she explains.

Dr. Robinson believes there is an appropriate compromise between Western medicine and a holistic approach.
