One of world's rarest whale species has mini-baby boom off New England coast

An endangered species of whale is experiencing a mini-baby boom in New England waters, researchers on Cape Cod have said. The North Atlantic right whale is one of the rarest species of whale on the planet, numbering only about 411. But the Center for Coastal Studies in Provincetown, Mass., said Friday its aerial survey team spotted two mom and calf pairs in Cape Cod Bay a day earlier. That brings the number seen in New England waters alone this year to three. That’s big news because the whale’s population has been falling,…

Featuring the rare extinct animals of… Dryococelus – For upwards of 80 years, this oversized stick insect avoided human eyes. Commonly known as the Lord Howe Island stick insect, it was previously assumed to having been last spotted in 1920, but in 1960, it was deemed extinct.
Coelacanth – This incredible dino-fish was originally thought to have vanished with its prehistoric brethren some 65 million years ago, but it made a miraculous recovery in 1938 when a South African museum curator stumbled upon the fish while trawling off the east coast of his home country. La Palma Giant Lizard – Within the past 500 years, it was believed the oversized lacertid of the island of La Palma had gone extinct, all signs of its species vanishing entirely for nearly half a century. Tasmanian Tiger – The striped Tasmanian tiger was declared extinct in 1986 after a survey of the continent failed to make any confirmed discoveries, but there are those that still believe the Australian marsupial, which was allegedly hunted into extinction, still exists. Honshu Wolf – During an 18th century epidemic of rabies, a large population of this Japanese wolf was killed off. By 1905, the last specimen was reportedly sighted at Higashi-Yoshino village. Javan Tiger – In 1994, the Indonesian tiger subspecies the Javan Tiger was deemed extinct, the last recorded sighting occurring as far back as 1976; but as you’ve probably gathered from this video so far of great beasts, what is deemed extinct not always is. Bathochordaeus Charon – This is a type of mysterious ocean blob that had not been seen in over a century. It was discovered by scientists last year, in 2016, and shed light on an unusual animal that, after centuries of searching, many feared extinct, if it had even existed in the first place. Wooly Flying Squirrel – The giant woolly flying squirrel resides in the Pakistani Kashmir and is one of the rarest and most endangered squirrels in the world. It had not been seen by westerners since 1924, and was believed to be extinct before it was rediscovered in the summer of 1994 by an American zoologist working in a remote valley of Kashmir in the far north of Pakistan. Baiji – Once located on China’s Yangtze River, the Baiji dolphin was an abundant species that is believed to have dwindled due to the Three Gorges Dam construction and the traffic that developed because of it. In 2006, the species was declared extinct with one of the last of the species dying in captivity in 2002. Omuras Whale – This is widely considered the rarest whale in the world. Its such a unique species in fact that for decades those who encountered it simply thought it was a strange kind of miniature Blue Whale instead, measuring 40-foot or 12 meters long.

How Different Animals See The World

Humans see the world differently to most animals. Let’s find out exactly how the animals of earth view the world!

How dogs see the world – We humans have three different kinds of color detecting cells in our eyes, called cones, whereas dogs only have two. Geckos – Human cone cells need pretty bright light in order to function well, which is why we can’t see colors that well when it’s dark. Giant Clams – Giant Clams, it turns out, not only have eyes, but have a few hundred eyes about the size of pinholes all along the edge of their bodies. Jumping Spiders – Mantis shrimp – You’ve probably heard of the Mantis shrimp because of their famous aquarium glass shattering punching capability. Bees – If you’ve seen the Bee Movie, you already know that bees are important. Cats – Flies – Flies can see limited colors, but they have a very broad field of vision, and see in a sort of mosaic effect. Snakes – Some animals, like snakes, don’t see color at all. Cows – Cows seem like pretty boring animals, so you’d expect them to pretty much see the way we do. Birds – Vision is particularly important for birds, since you don’t want to hit something while you’re fifty feet in the air. Horses

How Frogs see the world. Frogs are near-sighted, therefore they can’t see at distances that well. Chameleons – Like birds, chameleons can see all the colors we do, plus ultraviolet light, which we can’t see. Starfish – For a long time, scientists wondered if starfish could even see at all. It was known that they have one eye on the end of each arm, but it wasn’t clear if they could actually see images out of them or not. Recently, however, scientists have discovered that starfish can indeed see very basic images – about two hundred pixels. I guess some vision is better than no vision. What would a starfish need super jacked up eyes for anyway? Cuttlefish – The adorably named cuttlefish has blurrier vision than we do, and are completely colorblind. Butterflies – Butterflies see with red, green, blue, UV, and the wideband light from red to purple. Garden Snails – A snail’s eyes are located at the the tip of their two smallest tentacles. Rabbits – Turtles – While it is commonly believed that turtles are colorblind, in reality, they are better at seeing color than we are.

Pets You Should NEVER Release In The Wild!

10. Green Iguanas
Iguanas are a popular pet for collectors of exotic animals because of how cute they look and supposedly they are easy to take care of. Unfortunately the idea that they are simple to look after was likely spread by those who sell them, because they actually need a strict environment and diet to survive. They can also be difficult to tame and handle, especially when they are fully grown, and this has led to a large number being released into the wild.
They are naturally from central and south America, and thrive in warm environments. This has meant that those released in similar climates, such as those found in parts of California, Florida and Hawaii, have thrived and begun to breed. This has been detrimental to the local ecosystems where they compete with native species for food, and will prey on species that haven’t adapted to deal with these kind of threats. As a result, Iguanas are illegal to own in Hawaii because of the potential devastation and havoc they can cause on the islands. In Florida, the populations of feral iguanas have caused extensive damage to vegetation and local wildlife, so if you do decide to get one please be a responsible owner and don’t release them into the wild!.
9. Cuban Tree Frog
These cute frogs are a favorite of exotic species collectors, but the Cuban Tree Frog is causing serious issues across Florida. They are quite difficult to identify among other frog species, something that is made even more difficult by the way that they can change color. They are originally native to Cuba, the Bahamas, and the Cayman Islands, and are thought to have been first introduced to Florida in the 1920’s. It’s the recent popularity of keeping them as pets, though, that has led to an explosion in their numbers in the wild as a result of collectors releasing them.
Cuban Tree Frogs are an aggressive species that feed on at least five different species of native Floridian frogs, as well lizards, small snakes and tadpoles. They are also able to survive in urban areas, and will take over birdhouses, ponds and birdbaths where they lay their eggs. They have been responsible for massive changes in the ecosystem, and have even been known to affect humans by causing power outages?? They are a danger to environments where they aren’t native, and so must not be released under any circumstances.
8. Rabbits
Rabbits are another incredibly popular pet for owners around the world, but when they are released into non-native environments they can cause serious damage. The best example of this is in Australia where they were released for hunting in 1859. Only 24 were set free, but by 1920 there were an estimated 10 billion across the country. There have been numerous attempts to curb the population growth, but with their speed of breeding, ability to feed on most vegetation, and overall resilience, rabbits still roam Australia in huge numbers and pose a threat to many of the natural species like the bilby and burrowing bettong by taking over their burrows.
7. Goldfish/Carp
They may seem harmless enough, and are a popular pet for adults and children alike around the world, but releasing your pet fish into the wild can have disastrous consequences for your local environment. Nowhere has this effect been seen more clearly than in Australia where the problem has gotten out of hand. Notorious for their strict rules on bio-containment, it’s why Johnny Depp and Amber Heard got in trouble for allegedly sneaking in their dogs. The Australians have good reason for being that way.
In 2016 researchers from the Murdoch University in Perth caught goldfish that weighed up to 2kg and were up to 30 centimeters long. These large animals are thought to have descended from a small variety that were being kept as pets and released into the wild a few years before. By feeding on more food and disrupting the ecosystems, these fish can spread and cause significant damage by off all the native species. Goldfish the size of dinner plates have also been found in Alberta, Canada, and have led to fines of $100,000 dollars to those that release non-native species into the wild.
Angler Raphael Biagini captured a legendary “giant goldfish” out of a lake in the south of France. Fellow fishermen had spent 6 years trying to capture this orange koi carp weighing 30lbs. The only way this fish ended up in the lake, was because someone was trying to get rid of it.

Animals building skills

Everyone needs a place to live, but some aren’t happy with the great outdoors, they look for some home comforts – they use extraordinary specialist building skills to construct the perfect home. Homes have many uses. They can prove a bolthole to escape predators, a safe nursery in which to raise young, a food store and a shelter from bad weather.
Animals of many shapes and sizes build their own homes. Perhaps the biggest construction projects are those undertaken by ants. Hundreds of thousands work together to construct their home.
Small mammals are expert diggers. Meerkats and hamsters both excavate elaborate tunnels where they can stay out of harm’s way and raise their young, though the hamster likes to work alone while the meerkats prefer to have the company of an entire clan.
When it comes to making a nursery, it’s birds who steal the show. In just a few days they can construct a basket of twigs – a nest that can support their growing family and keep them out of harm’s way.
There is one other good builder in the animal kingdom – us. Did we learn our skills from the animal home builders?

Rarest and Most Endangered Animals in The World

In today’s video we present you the Rarest and Most Endangered Animals in The World. The following list is showing the Top 5 most beautiful exotic animals which are on the edge of existence because of the human’s unawareness and selfishness.

Our list of Top 5 Rarest and Most Endangered Animals in The World we have included the Pygmy Three-toed Sloth, which is on the IUCN lists as critically endangered and they are listed on the world’s 100 most threatened species.
Sunda Rhino – In April 2012, the National Parks Authority released video showing 35 individual Javan rhinos, including mother/offspring pairs and courting adults. As of 2016 there are only 63 individuals left out in the wild and none captive.
Hainan Gibbon – BELIEVE OR NOT – Over 25% of the Hainan gibbon’s habitat has been reduced due to illegal pulp paper plantation growers.
Madagascar Bamboo Lemur – In July, a group of primate specialists warned that lemurs could be extinct in the wild within 20 years if lemur hunting and illegal logging aren’t stopped.
Okapi – Major threats include habitat loss due to logging and human settlement. Extensive hunting for bushmeat and skin and illegal mining have also led to population declines. A threat that has emerged quite recently is the presence of illegal armed groups around protected areas, inhibiting conservation and monitoring actions.

################################

The world is 70 percent water, so it’s probably a good thing that the stuff is good for us. We can drink it, swim in it, grow food with it, and just plain live because of it. However, certain bodies of water are shockingly mean to us. Interacting with some lakes and rivers can hurt us, make us sick, or even kill us.

Hello guys and today we’re talking about 10 Bodies Of Water That Want You Dead

#10. Boiling Lake Dominica
Whoever named this place was certainly no fan of subtlety: Boiling Lake is exactly what it sounds like. Discovered in 1870 by two Englishmen, temperatures taken five years later ranged anywhere from 82 to 91.5 °C.

#9. Citarum River West Java, Indonesia
Here we have a body of water that can destroy us, but only because we screwed it up. Citarum River might well be the most polluted, trash-filled bit of water on the planet.

#8. Rio Tinto Spain
Rio Tinto is among the most acidic bodies of water around, with a pH balance of 2, at best. This means the Rio Tinto is as strong as stomach acid and is more than powerful enough to kill any fish that dare swim in it.

#7. Lake Kivu Of DRC And Rwanda
Three hundred meters (1,000 ft) below the surface of Lake Kivu lies a ticking time bomb. Over 250 cubic kilometers (60 cubic miles) of carbon dioxide, along with around 65 cubic kilometers (15 cubic miles) of methane gas, lurks under this body of water, enough to provide electricity to several countries.

#6. The Rivers Of Johannesburg South Africa
Catching E. coli is no fun under normal circumstances; now imagine you were literally swimming in the stuff.

#5. Blackwater River Virginia, USA
Too much water can be a bad thing, even if the water can’t kill you otherwise.

#4. Tualatin River Oregon, USA
Oregon’s Tualatin River is not the place to be if you want to take your dogs for a swim; close to a dozen pups die there every year from exposure to toxic blue-green algae.

#3. Lake Karachay Russia
Like a supermodel with a bomb strapped underneath her bodice, Russia’s Lake Karachay is pristine, gorgeous, and incredibly deadly. It is, without question, the most radioactive body of water on the planet.

#2. Belle Fourche River And South Dakota, USA
Belle Fourche isn’t poisonous, boiling, or radioactive. However, it is turbulent and wild, at least in one particular area.

#1. Potomac River Maryland–West Virginia Border, USA
Though the only thing most people know about the Potomac is that Washington, DC is situated on it, the legendary river can also be associated with something else: horrible deaths.

Thank you for watching!!! Does anyone want to come over and swim with me? Write in comments what do you think of these bodies of water. Join our channel for more interesting videos!

15 Incredibly Rare Animals

Top 15 rarest animals on earth that need help, these beautiful creatures like the rare strawberry tiger are all close to extinction!

Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr

Sumatran Rhino
7. The Sumatran Rhino is a dangerously endangered animal. Rhinos as a species are suffering around the world and most species have only a few left. There are fewer than 100 of these graceful animals left in the world and saving the rhinos has become a huge conservation effort worldwide. People hope to be able to save at least one species of rhino and perhaps that species will be the Sumatran rhino.

Giant Squid
6. The giant squid is a mystery of the sea. This animal may or may not be endangered. This animal was first caught on camera in 2006, and until then there was a possibility that they were just a myth. However, evidence had suggested that they were a real thing. For years, humanity had been finding blue whales, the world’s largest animal, washed up on the shores of Earth with giant beak marks and suction cup marks. This led to the question, what else is big enough to attack and possibly kill a blue whale? The answer is simple; giant squids are out there. There have only been a few confirmed sightings of these large animals, and in the image, you see a depiction of one attacking a blue whale. There is a possibility that the reason these animals were sighted more frequently before the industrial age and the development of the camera is that they have been heavily affected by human ocean pollution. There is not enough information and sightings to confirm that these animals are endangered, but they likely are.

Okapi
5. An okapi is a close relative of the giraffe. It may look like a zebra or a deer, but this is not the case. They are endemic to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They inhabit forests and primarily have a diet of leaves. They are classified as an endangered species and deforestation is the primary cause. The okapi is being forced out of their homes in the forest, and they are dying out because they cannot survive without an abundance of foliage on which to feast. There are active conservation efforts to protect these animals, but their population is still in decline and us as a people have to be more active in their preservation.

Strawberry Tigers
4. The strawberry tiger or golden tiger is a very rare type of tiger how it is not a different species from the average tiger. It, like a white tiger, is a genetic variation of the average tiger. Its beautiful coloration and majestic appearance make it one of the most beautiful species of the world. However, tigers as a species are critically endangered due to the increase in deforestation in their natural habitats. As the habitats of these beautiful animals recede the species will recede and fewer tigers, strawberry or not, are roaming the planet.

Blue Lobster
3. The blue lobster is a direct result of a genetic mutation in the species of lobster known as the American Lobster. This animal, specifically the blue variety, is incredibly rare. It is not technically endangered, but the total population is very low because blue lobsters are an anomaly of genetics. The blue is caused by an excess of internal protein and sightings of these have become more common in the past few years. They are beautiful animals that deserve our protection.

Yangtze River Dolphins
2. The Yangtze River Dolphin or Baiji is one of the most endangered species in the world. It shares the same problem as the Red River Softshell Turtle, and it is dying out due to Chinese industrialization. These animals used to thrive in the Yangtze river, but now rising pollution in the river has brought them to the brink of nonexistence. The total population is now somewhere between 0 and 13, and they may already be extinct. There has not been a fully confirmed sighting of these dolphins in the wild since the mid-2000s. However, there are ongoing conservation efforts based around a few of these dolphins that exist in captivity.

Chinese Giant Salamander
1. The giant Chinese salamander is a gentle giant that is on the verge of extinction. These animals are one of the longest-lived species on the planet with an average lifespan of almost 200 years; some live even longer. The salamander as a species is ancient and has been around in the form we see it in today since animals first crawled out of the ocean. Sadly, these ancient creatures are being driven to extinction by people, primarily due to overeating and consumption. These giant salamanders are considered a delicacy in some parts of China and people partake in the unethical consumption of these beautiful creatures regularly.

7: The Dire Wolf
During the Pleistocene, the dire wolf also known as Canis dirus inhabited different areas around North and South America. Although the average dire wolf was similar in size to the larger specimens of present day’s grey wolf, its vicious bite was the strongest of any Canis species to date. Their teeth were also larger and featured a greater shearing ability. It is also believed that they used their bite to crush the bones of their prey and eat the marrow in order to extract the maximum nutritional capacity out of each kill. Based on the numerous specimens recovered from the La Brea
6: The Smilodon
The smilodon is one of the best known species of what is commonly known as the saber-toothed cat. Smilodons inhabited regions in the Americas during the Pleistocene era, around 1.6 million to 10.000 years ago. Thousands of smilodon fossil specimens were discovered in the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles, US. Their most distinctive features were their canines which could grow as long as 12 inches for the Smilodon populator, the largest of the smilodon species. Their height was estimated
5: The Terror Bird
The Phorusrhacidae also known as the terror birds were a type of large carnivorous flightless bird. It was the apex predator in the South American region, during the Cenozoic era. Terror birds ranged in height with the largest specimens standing almost 10 feet tall. They had large heads and powerful beaks but also great flexibility in their long necks. This enabled them to deliver devastating strikes on their prey. They would often use their height as a means of intimidation. Before delivering a downward attack
4: The Spinosaurus
Similar to the T-Rex the Spinosaurus was also a theropod dinosaur meaning that it was a massive land carnivore. It lived during the Cretaceous period, approximately 112 to 97 million years ago, mainly in the swamps of North Africa. Its scientific name, which translates to ‘spine lizard’, reflects the dinosaur’s most distinctive feature. The Spinosaurus had tall neural spines growing on its back vertebrae which were connected to each other by skin to form what scientists have referred to as the ‘sail’. The sail’s function is still unclear. With its sail fully extended the Spinosaurus
3: The Titanoboa
The titanoboa is the largest genus of snake ever discovered with an estimated weight of 2.500 pounds and a length of almost 50 feet. Upon its discovery it was believed that the titanoboa was an apex predator of the Palogene epoch inhabiting Earth’s tropical regions approximately 50-60 million years ago. However, later analysis indicated that the snake was mainly piscivorous, meaning that its diet consisted mostly of fish. When it would take on larger prey, the serpent would use its massive body to constrict its prey
2: The Tyrannosaurus Rex
The name ‘Rex’ comes from Latin and translates as ‘king’. Considering the fact that the Tyrannosaurus Rex is one of the largest predators that have ever lived, the name does it justice. The T-Rex was one of the few non-avian dinosaurs that were still roaming the Earth, prior to the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event (K-Pg). The leading theory behind the K-Pg event is that a large asteroid brought about the mass extinction of approximately three quarters of all the plant and animal life on Earth. The largest complete T-Rex specimen is located at the Field Museum of Natural History, in Chicago and measures 40 feet in length and stands at 12 feet tall. Based on the bone structure it is estimated
1: The Megalodon
The megalodon was one of the most dangerous predators in the sea during the Pliocene and Miocene epochs, around 23 to 2.6 million years ago. Based on the size of the discovered teeth and vertebrae, it was determined that the megalodon’s physical appearance resembled that of today’s great white shark. However, the megalodon was much larger. Based on the fossil evidence and body mass analysis which was done in comparison with that of the great white it was estimated that the length of the megalodon ranged from 55 to 60 meters in length with a weight between 50 and 75 tons. Scientists have not excluded the possibility of certain specimens exceeding these parameters. A 2008 computer simulation determined that the 10.8 to 18.2 ton bite force that this shark could produce was stronger than that of any other animal

43 Animals With The Most Unique Patterns

43 Animals With The Most Unique Patterns! Check out these adorable puppies dogs kittens and cats and their amazing patterns!

Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr

#20 – Knowing The Numbers
This cow must have been the seventh one born. Why else would she have such a clear number printed on her forehead?

#19 – A Picture of Myself
A picture of yourself these days is referred to as a “selfie,” and you generally either love them or hate them. This kitten was lucky enough to be born with a selfie attached right to his side. What’s crazy is that the shapes on his side really looks like his face.

#18 – Panda, Panda, Panda
Here is another animal that looks like a panda! How did we ever get so lucky? This one I think is the cutest of the panda pups.

#17 – Poor Cat
This poor cat had no choice but to be born this way. It’s not his fault he looks like Hitler. He was probably passed by a dozen times in the animal shelter just because of how he looks. Poor kitty.

#16 – Doggles
Doggles are goggles for dogs. Here you can see this dog sporting one. He’s posing perfectly. He should be on the cover of Dovogue, the fashion magazine for dogs.

#15 – My Nose, Knows
Often when you say that an animal’s nose, knows, it means that the heightened senses of the animal far surpass that of your own. However, in this case, this nose knows how much it’s loved.

#14 – Which Snake Are You?
This is another animal that looks like it is composed of two different animals. It is a type of color mutation that gives this snake his twin look.

#13 – I Am Cat
See, his name is even permanently marked on his side. There is no denying that this is cat. The one, the only.

#12 – Arch That Eyebrow
This dog looks like it doesn’t approve of a thing you said.

#11 – The Top Hat Cat
This little guy is wearing a black top hat on his little head! He would look perfect next to the kitty that has the perfect mustache.

#10 – The Dog That Looks Like A Cat
Normally you come across this type of mottled fur when you see a Calico cat, not a dog. Still, this Calico dog sure is rockin his multicolored coat with style.

#9 – The Lover
This kitten has more love than he knows what to do with. Look at how big his heart is!

#8 – Frankenstein
This poor dog looks like he is made up of spare parts from other dogs. He looks like several different dogs rolled into one.

#7 – A Cat Inside A Cat
I wonder if this guy ever catches a glimpse of his back. If he did, would he immediately attack? Or does he know that there is a silent cat that never eats sitting behind him always?

#6 – Panda Dolphins
I know I’ve shown you numerous panda colored animals in this video, but I’m not quite done yet. Here is a dolphin who has a piebald coloring pattern. A piebald animal has irregular patches of two different colors, though, black and white are the most common.

#5 – Love By The Bellyfull
This pretty kitty has the cutest orange heart on its little stomach. If that wasn’t cute enough for you, the cat’s winking too.

#4 – The Glamorous Feline
This gorgeous cat is decked out with its very own fur coat! It looks like it had a coat made from an entirely different cat, how barbaric.

#3 – For the Love of Happy Feet
If you took the heart away from this little guy, you would have yourself a spitting image of Mumble, the star of the children’s movie, Happy Feet. However cute he is, having the addition of the heart on its chest makes it all the more adorable.

#2 – Playing Dress Up
This kitty likes to play dress up as a raccoon. He got the idea when he first saw the neighborhood raccoon gang going through the garbage outside. He wanted to be one of them.

#1 – The Devious One
This cat cannot help but to get himself into trouble. Just look at that face, eyebrows, and mustache; it really says it all. Some even say he looks like Sean Connery, I would agree.

31 Unique Dogs With Unbelievable Fur Markings

From a Puppy Wearing a Mask to a Fancy Moustache Dog and a Dog with Eyeliner here are 31 Unique Dogs With Unbelievable Coats.

Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr

# 15 Puppy Wearing a Mask
Plenty of dogs have mask-like colorations, sure, but few dogs actually look like they’re wearing a straight up mask! This guy looks like he’s wearing a luchador mask and is ready to jump into the ring at any moment.

# 14 Black Masked Dog
While the previous dog looked like he was wearing a white luchador mask, this dog is wearing a black mask fit for a dashing criminal vigilante.

# 13 Light Boston Terrier
Boston Terriers usually have black coats with a white mask across the board, which is why this ginger Boston Terrier is so unique. It is almost unrecognizable without the iconic black and white coating.

# 12 Blonde Mudi
This bunch of puppies are called Mudis, a rare breed of Hungarian herding dogs and usually only have black or mostly black coats. As you can see, these Mudi puppies are a little blonde.

# 11 Baby Panda
These babies fooled the world when they were born because they look so much like soft, newborn Pandas. Even though they’re just puppies and not little cubs, they are still irrrestibly cute.

# 10 Bernese Mountain Dog
Bernese Mountain Dogs are highly sought after dogs even without a rare coat, so this rare patterned Bernese Mountain Dog is even more of a prize. It looks a bit like a Vanilla flavored dog dipped in chocolate, which is super cute.

# 9 Cheetah Dog
This dog might be a wild canine rather than a domesticated pet with that coat. Those markings are more Cheetah-like than anything.

# 8 Siberian Tiger Bulldog
This coloration on a bull dog is completely unique – there probably isn’t a dog out there that has a coloring quite like this one. It may be a bulldog but it has the coat of a Siberian Tiger.

# 7 Freckled Dog
Australian Cattle Dogs have beautiful coats that are often spotted or freckled, but this Australian Cattle Mix has a much lighter and blonder set of freckles.

# 6 Panda Dog
Puppies are already some of the cutest things in the world, but combine that with a panda bear and you have a cuteness overload. Let’s just hope it gets as big as a panda when it grows up.

# 5 Light Brown Dalmatian
Dalmatians have a classic look: black, white, and spotted all over. Well, sometimes they come out a little differently. This dalmatian is completely covered in coffee colored spots rather than the usual black and white affair.

# 4 Patchwork Dachshund
People breed dogs all the time to achieve what they believe is the perfect dog. There are a bunch of designer dogs, from the Goldendoodle to the Schnoodle, but sometimes the result can look different than what you’re expecting. Like this patchwork Dachshund which looks like three distinct dogs sewn together.

# 3 Fancy Moustache Dog
What’s fancier than a curled handlebar moustache? This dog has a sleek black and white coat and a clean moustache that is perfect for any black tie event.

# 2 Dog with Eyeliner
This Husky puppy has a super unique coat that makes it look like it’s got some killer eyeliner on. Complete with light eyes and a heart shaped nose, this dog is picture perfect.

# 1 Rottweiler with Vitiligo
This Rottweiler has a pretty standard coat pattern, but its coloration makes it unique. This Rottweiler was born with vitiligo – a genetically inherited trait that causes depigmentation in random patterns on the body. That is why parts of this dog’s coat are completely stark white.

These monkeys were thought to be extinct, but now it’s estimated that there are 200 remaining. You find them in parts of Vietnam and close to the Chinese border.

It would be a good and a bad thing to catch a Cuban Solenodon. Good because they were labelled extinct, but they have since been rediscovered. Bad because if you get bitten by one, you will be in a lot of pain, because their bite is pretty poisonous. In 1970 it was labelled extinct, but 2 were caught in 1974 and 1975 respectively. One was captured again in 2003, studied and released back into the wild.

Meet the Ili Pika, one of the rarest and most endangered species on earth! Weidong Li discovered this exceptionally cute animal in 1983, and then strangely enough – 20 years later, it was none other than Weidong Li who spotted them again. He found this one in the Tian Shan Mountains, and they are fondly known as the Magic Rabbit, because they are so elusive. There are only about 1000 of them left in the world today.

So the Worcester’s Buttonquail was believed to be extinct for a very long time, until one day all that changed. The story is a bit unclear, but it turned up at a market in Luzon in 2009 and was sold as food. Also known as the speckled cape tortoise is the world’s tiniest turtle, you can find them inside South Africa. These little critters usually measure between six to ten centimeters in length and weigh around 95 to 165 grams. These little guys are most active in early mornings and live in rocky terrain usually feeding on small succulents which grow in between the rocks. Their babies are usually born under seven grams and are only 30 millimeters long, the hatchlings emerge from their shells between 100 and 120 days.

This charming reptilian can most commonly be located inside the Caribbean Islands native to Barbados and are said to be about as thick as a spaghetti noodle, hence their super cute namesake. This tiny member of the snake species called the blind threadsnake, they usually only grow to be about four inches in length and coil easily onto the width of an American quarter. The biologist who discovered this adorable reptile was S. Blair Hedges of the Pennsylvania State University who unearthed the tiny find from the soil of Barbados where they burrow in the forest dirt for their favourite meal, insect larvae. Though these snakes are blind, teeny tiny and lay just one egg at a time, they have managed to survive in the harsh wilderness of Barbados forests, proving once and for all that big things really do come in small packages.

4 – The Philippine Tarsier
These little guys are some of the world’s smallest primates, they are known for being jittery and shy. These marvels of the modern world have grey fur and have a nearly naked tail, head and body length only stretch to about 115 to 150 millimeters and weigh an approximate 110 to 145 grams. These Philippine-born critters are best characterised by their gigantic eyes, slender legs and fingers and jumping prowess, they can hop up to twenty whole feet, which is pretty darn impressive for such little guys. Look carefully, can you spot the little adorable horse of the sea? These teeny-weeny creatures have short snouts, slender smooth bodies and a prehensile tail. These little darlings are most commonly found at depths between 13 and 100 meters below sea level usually hidden inside fields of sea fans. The male is the one who gets pregnant and broods the eggs inside its ventral brood pouch and utilises adaptive camouflage, changing it’s color from yellow, to orange and sometimes to pink in order to remain not eaten by predators.
