Old Zigzag Road aka Bitukang Manok at Pagbilao, Quezon │Pilot Episode (Tour 01) – [ENG SUB]

This is the start of something incredible in my life. I have accepted the “Libot Pilipinas” challenge where I need to tour all 81 provinces of the Philippines. You might say, that’s very doable. You just need time and money to pay for the plane tickets and accommodation. Well, here’s the twist: I’ll do it on TWO WHEELS! Intrigued? Watch the pilot episode.

For those who are wondering if it really is called “Bitukang Manok,” please watch the 1 minute mark of this video: https://youtu.be/kdOyB1ecpwc

It was called tatlong EME etc before but change is real. 🙂

10 Unique Animals You Won’t Believe Exist

10 strange and amazing animals that you have probably never heard of. Nature is truly full of surprises!
We live in the twenty-first century, and all continents have already been discovered, all secrets of our planet revealed, all mountain peaks conquered. Just when you think you have seen it all, some new bizarre creature makes an appearance instantly restoring your faith in the impossible!

TIMESTAMPS
Mangalitsa Pig, a.k.a. “a pig in sheep’s clothing” 0:50
Rhinopithecus or golden snub-nosed monkey 1:33
Emperor tamarin 2:13
Patagonian Mara 3:04
Fluffy cow 3:52
Markhor Goat 4:44
Raccoon dog 5:23
Blue Footed Booby 6:25
Malayan Colugo 7:13
Venezuelan Poodle Moth 8:09
BONUS 8:56

SUMMARY
– The birthplace of this curly-haired pig is Hungary where it was discovered in the mid-19th century. Due to the fleece covering this animal, it resembles a sheep, therefore, such a name!
– The name of this species is roxellana, and there is a story behind it. It is believed that they were called this way after the supposedly snub-nosed courtesan of Suleiman the Magnificent (a 16th century Sultan of the Ottoman Empire).
– They were called like this because of the resemblance of their mustache to that of German Emperor Wilhelm II.
– Patagonia Mara is the fourth largest rodent on our planet. There are several interesting facts about them. Females often put offsprings into creches for safety.
– Fluffy cows are looked after by people whose work is to wash, dry and use products to style these animals, so they look as fluffy as they do! It is necessary to maintain them daily, and it will take months of regular grooming until they get this lovely look of kids toys.
– If you see a creature which looks as if it’s trying to catch an alien radio signal from space, it’s most likely Markhor Goat. They can grow as long as 6 ft from head to tail!
– If you can’t decide if you want to have a dog or a raccoon as a pet, we have just the thing for you – raccoon dog! Despite having raccoon-like markings on their fur, they are not very closely related to the North American raccoon.
– Blue Footed Booby are to catch your eye if you ever visit the Galapagos Islands. They can look a bit clumsy and comical on land, but they are excellent at flying and swimming.
– Colugo has a large gliding membrane (like a flying squirrel), and they can glide for long distances between trees standing far apart.
– Even if the Poodle Moth may look as if it lives in Antarctica with all this fur, in fact, it comes from Venezuela, a tropical country. Its hairs don’t serve for heating.

BONUS
Cloud Antelope! This species lives in the clouds (that’s why such a name)! Its bright blue fur is the reflection of cloudless blue skies in the area of its habitat. Its diet consists of sun rays and candies…

Green turtle rescue by tour group on Lady Musgrave Island, Australia

My sister and I discovered this distressed green turtle on the shore of Lady Musgrave Island, Queensland, Australia on 31 January 2018. The poor girl had been trying to nest but we found her on her back and stuck under a mass of tree roots and branches. It seemed she’d been there for quite some time in the blazing summer heat. Our amazing tour group with @1770reef banded together to perform this magical turtle rescue.

A living cultural landscape is nestled into the remote slopes of the Cordillera mountain range in the Philippines. It serves as an example of sustainable agriculture with traditional techniques. For 2,000 years the mountains of Ifugao province have been cultivated with terraced fields that climb thousands of feet.

These fields, and the knowledge to farm them, have been passed down from generation to generation for centuries. They have long been central to the survival of the Ifugao peoples but they also occupy a central importance within their culture. Entire communities cooperate on seasonal systems of planting, pest control, and harvest. The coordinated efforts are tied to lunar cycles and sometimes accompanied with religious rituals.

The UNESCO site encompasses five different clusters of rice terraces in the area. The Banaue Rice Terraces are the most famous of the lot. Banaue is approximately 230 miles north of Manila, and buses depart daily from the capital. It can take up to ten hours to make it up the mountainous terrain to the rice fields.

Take a guided hiking tour and make sure to pack a picnic for an outstanding view of this remarkable landscape.

Mainstream historians will tell you that the Great Pyramid of Giza was a glorified tomb for the Egyptian pharaohs. The only original monument left of the original Seven Wonders of the World, this structure was created with impeccable mathematical precision, and is a unique, mysterious feat of construction and engineering.

There’s only one problem: the Great Pyramid has none of the characteristics of tombs: including extravagant artifacts, ornate wall art, sealed entrances, elaborate coffins, or even mummies themselves. It was, however, built with unique – the same materials that are used for electrical conductivity today. These facts are leading more and more historians to believe the pyramids may have had a far more useful purpose. ..that pyramid of Giza was not at all a tomb, but a power plant: generating and transmitting electricity to the civilization surrounding them. Sound impossible?

On the island of Bohol, in the Philippines, an expanse of otherworldly cones look like ruins from a lost civilization. But the Chocolate Hills, formed naturally, over millions of years. They change appearance over the course of each year, as well. Lush in the rainy season, the vegetation dries in summer, imparting the golden-brown hue that gives them their name—people compare the hills to giant Hershey’s Kisses. Some 1,700 mounds extend across 20 square miles, rising as high as 400 feet. The land’s limestone base formed from skeletons of sea life. Geologic processes lifted the rock, and water slowly eroded it. Similar processes carve limestone around the world, but the Chocolate Hills’ combination of shape and uniformity makes them unique.

Jellyfish paralyze prey using neurotoxins in their tentacles, but the turtle does not seem to be affected. It closes its eyes and uses its flipper as a shield from the jellyfish’s stinging tentacles. Green sea turtles are endangered. Their main threat is overexploitation of eggs from the beaches they are laid on. Green sea turtles are predominately herbivorous, but juveniles have been known to feed on jellyfish.

A Walk Through A Squatters Area In The Philippines

A Walk Through A Squatters Area In The Philippines

We had a subscriber tell us about a suspended concrete bridge the locals use in our area as a short cut. So today we set out to find this bridge. Little did I know it was located in a squatters area. So we walked through the squatters area to see the bridge. It was neat to see the locals cross the bridge on motorcycles and bikes. The bridge was only big enough for motorcycles to cross.

Extreme Chinese Street Food – JACUZZI CHICKEN and Market Tour in Kunming! | Yunnan, China Day 4

This Day 4 of this 4-part video Chinese food tour of Yunnan. Watch it all here: https://goo.gl/QhiJUb
►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe
►T-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/

Thanks to Frank and Jerry of Zouba Tours: http://www.zoubatours.com/ for taking me around. I paid for this tour, but they did a great job and I would recommend them.

Kunming, Yunnan, China – Kunming is the capital and largest city in Yunnan province China. So I was excited to explore the local market in Kunming and eat as much street food as possible!

Here are all the Chinese street food dishes we ate throughout the market:

Rice pudding – 5 RMB ($0.76) – This was slightly fermented, and sweet, like a rice alcohol pudding. It was pretty good, but quite sweet, so I couldn’t eat that much of it.

Dumpling – 1 RMB ($0.15) – I saw these dumplings sizzling and hissing and there was no way I could walk by without trying one. Stuffed inside were leek and egg. They were a little on the oily side, but delicious.

Whole duck – 20 RMB ($3.03) – Yunnan is famous for roast duck, and there’s a version that’s comparable even to Beijing style. Style I was excited to find a stall that at the market that specialize in Yunnanese roast duck. It was delicious and the owners were very friendly as well.

Pickled pears – 5 RMB ($0.76) – This was an interesting snack, and supposed to be very healthy and good for digestion.

Drink – 2 RMB ($0.30) – This drink was incredible sweet, but refreshing.

Tofu Noodles – 5.5 RMB ($0.83) – Another extremely popular Chinese street food snack at the market was tofu noodles – I’ve had tofu and noodles, but not really mixed before. It was a little plain and starchy, but from all the sauces, it was taty.
Rice balls – 5 RMB ($0.76) – We also tried sesame rice balls which were delicious.

Jacuzzi braised ½ chicken – 15 RMB ($2.27) – This was one of the highlights of the market for me, mainly because the owner was so friendly and his giant jacuzzi of boiling chickens was amazing to see! The chicken was a little bony, but flavorful.

Yellow soybean porridge – 3.5 RMB ($0.53) – As we were leaving the market, we stopped for one last bowl of soybean porridge to eat with youtiau, Chinese donuts. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did, but it was delicious. It was very warming and hearty.

Finally to complete this Chinese street food tour in Kunming, Jerry and I, along with his family ate Chinese Yunnanese bbq. It was tasty and a great way to end this amazing day of street food.

Special thanks to Zouba Tours (http://www.zoubatours.com/) for arranging everything in this video. I paid for this tour, but I think they did a great job, and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the tour.

That completes Day 4 of this Chinese food tour of Yunnan. If you haven’t already, watch the full series here: https://goo.gl/QhiJUb

Here I explore through the limestone and clean beaches traveling to Big Lagoon, Small Lagoon, Kayangan Lake and snorkel in different areas of the tropical ocean.

I also visit Puerto Princessa Underground River which is now one of the most visited tourist spot in the world ever since they have been declared by UNESCO as one among the new 7 Wonders of Nature. #itsmorefuninthephilippines

CEBU PHILIPPINES – Whale Shark, Canyoneering, Kawasan Waterfalls

How to get Oslob from Cebu City?
I took an Uber from Cebu Mactan Airport to Cebu South Bus Terminal.
Take a Ceres Bus which has “via Oslob” on it’s front sign.
The cost is 150-160pesos

I stayed at Noordzee Hostel (near to Oslob). I think it is more like a Resort rather than a Hostel. I booked a sea view private tent and it was very awesome!
