The most patient and docile cat ever!
My incredibly (freakishly) patient cat, Bosn, stoically enduring the affections of my daughter, Laurelin. (and before you get into your “poor kitty”s, realise that he approached her and laid down next to her, knowing from experience that this sort of loving mauling would follow)
I thought to make a video on my process on how to draw black/white cats but I’m in such a motivation loss phase and artblock.
But still I decided to draw something (it is @mango._cat from Instagram) and to record it. Here in this speedpaint you can see how I struggled with the light source and the values. I never really had problems with black fur but this one was harder than I thought! Maybe it was because I’m used to black fur with blue light reflection? Also I don’t like how the eyes look and the nose look like it is just placed there. Enough rambling.
I have tons of work to do, especially MAP parts which are due 2 weeks! Plus school starts and exams are coming .-.

There are a couple of answers to the question, “How do black holes form?” Different types of black holes form through different processes. Stellar-mass black holes are born when very massive stars (typically tens of solar masses) explode in supernovae. These explosions are some of the most energetic phenomena in the universe. In a supernova, the outer layers of a dying star are violently ejected into space, while the remaining core collapses under its own weight to form a black hole.
The formation mechanism of supermassive black holes is still a topic of debate. While it is generally agreed that a black hole in the center of a galaxy could become supermassive by accreting matter and merging with other black holes, the origin of the progenitor black hole remains unclear. Perhaps supermassive progenitors were all originally stellar-mass black holes formed by the explosions of the first generation of extremely massive stars. Another model states that before star formation even ignited young galaxies, large gas clouds collapsed to form the first black holes. Yet another model suggests that primordial black holes, hypothetically formed by density fluctuations in the first moments following the Big Bang, are the seeds of supermassive black holes.

How the Universe Works – The Dark Matter Enigma – Space Discovery Documentary
Explore the biggest question of all. How far do the stars stretch out into space? And what’s beyond them? In modern times, we built giant telescopes that have allowed us to cast our gaze deep into the universe. Astronomers have been able to look back to near the time of its birth. They’ve reconstructed the course of cosmic history in astonishing detail. From intensive computer modeling, and myriad close observations, they’ve uncovered important clues to its ongoing evolution. Many now conclude that what we can see, the stars and galaxies that stretch out to the limits of our vision, represent only a small fraction of all there is. Does the universe go on forever? Where do we fit within it? And how would the great thinkers have wrapped their brains around the far-out ideas on today’s cutting edge? For those who find infinity hard to grasp, even troubling, you’re not alone. It’s a concept that has long tormented even the best minds. Over two thousand years ago, the Greek mathematician Pythagoras and his followers saw numerical relationships as the key to understanding the world around them. But in their investigation of geometric shapes, they discovered that some important ratios could not be expressed in simple numbers. Take the circumference of a circle to its diameter, called Pi. Computer scientists recently calculated Pi to 5 trillion digits, confirming what the Greeks learned: there are no repeating patterns and no ending in sight. The discovery of the so-called irrational numbers like Pi was so disturbing, legend has it, that one member of the Pythagorian cult, Hippassus, was drowned at sea for divulging their existence. A century later, the philosopher Zeno brought infinity into the open with a series of paradoxes: situations that are true, but strongly counter-intuitive. In this modern update of one of Zeno’s paradoxes, say you have arrived at an intersection. But you are only allowed to cross the street in increments of half the distance to the other side. So to cross this finite distance, you must take an infinite number of steps. In math today, it’s a given that you can subdivide any length an infinite number of times, or find an infinity of points along a line. What made the idea of infinity so troubling to the Greeks is that it clashed with their goal of using numbers to explain the workings of the real world. To the philosopher Aristotle, a century after Zeno, infinity evoked the formless chaos from which the world was thought to have emerged: a primordial state with no natural laws or limits, devoid of all form and content. But if the universe is finite, what would happen if a warrior traveled to the edge and tossed a spear? Where would it go? It would not fly off on an infinite journey, Aristotle said. Rather, it would join the motion of the stars in a crystalline sphere that encircled the Earth. To preserve the idea of a limited universe, Aristotle would craft an historic distinction. On the one hand, Aristotle pointed to the irrational numbers such as Pi. Each new calculation results in an additional digit, but the final, final number in the string can never be specified. So Aristotle called it “potentially” infinite. Then there’s the “actually infinite,” like the total number of points or subdivisions along a line. It’s literally uncountable. Aristotle reserved the status of “actually infinite” for the so-called “prime mover” that created the world and is beyond our capacity to understand. This became the basis for what’s called the Cosmological, or First Cause, argument for the existence of God. #universedocumentary #spacedocumentary #Universe
Every other Wednesday we present a new video, so join us to see the truth laid bare…
The Sun is the most powerful force in our solar system. It generates the heat and light that sustains us. Without it we wouldn’t have life on Earth. But the Sun is violent and volatile and is becoming more dangerous as it ages.
Naked Science explores the life and death of the Sun. We explore what will happen in the future as the Sun ages, and how our lives linked to the Sun’s life cycle.
Firstly we want to understand how the Sun was created from a giant cloud of dust and gas. Scientists pretty much agree on the theory but physical evidence is hard to come by. Naked Science meets scientists at Johnson Space Center who have been working on a ten year mission to bring a piece of the Sun back to Earth. How do scientists collect samples of the Sun when a probe could never get near the Sun’s surface? We follow NASA’s dare devil mission to capture the samples.
Today we rely on the Sun to live. It’s energy fuels trees and plants which are essential for the food chain we all depend upon. But how do we get the energy? Naked Science explores the incredible journey that the particles of light from the Sun have to make to earth to deliver their energy.
How old is the Sun? This is a question which has fascinated scientists for a long time. Scientists have now established the Sun’s age with the aid of one remarkable fact that the Sun sings. We visit Big Bear Solar Observatory in California to meet one of the scientists who has been at the forefront of using the Sun’s sounds to determine its age.
The Sun’s warmth and light helped life on Earth to begin but it can also play havoc with our modern way of life. Billions of tons of plasma erupting from the sun send powerful storms hurtling through our solar system. We visit the Space Environment Center in Boulder, Colorado where they try to predict the sun’s violent moods. 1989 brought one of the most dramatic space storms and Naked Science uncovers the events which took place on the Earth. But what lies behind the explosive events on the Sun. We travel to the California Institute of Technology in Los Angeles where they are trying to understand the science behind the explosions by creating them in the laboratory.
But what about the risks of solar storms to astronauts in Space? Naked Science meets Michael Foale who was directly in the line of fire on the International Space Station during the intense solar activity in 2003. There is one solar event astronauts can’t be protected from. A superflare. Superflares are up to 10 million times more energetic than the most powerful solar flares. Naked Science journeys to Louisiana to meet an astrophysicist who has found evidence of nine stars that have experienced superflares. What if our sun ever produced a superflare, what would happen to life on earth?
We know when the sun was born, how it nurtured us and how it has thrown a fair amount of danger our way. But how and when will it die and will the Earth survive?

How the Universe Works – The Secrets of Twin Suns – Space Exploration Our Universe
The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System. It is a nearly perfect sphere of hot plasma, with internal convective motion that generates a magnetic field via a dynamo process. It is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth. Its diameter is about 1.39 million kilometers (864,000 miles), or 109 times that of Earth, and its mass is about 330,000 times that of Earth. It accounts for about 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System. Roughly three quarters of the Sun’s mass consists of hydrogen (~73%); the rest is mostly helium (~25%), with much smaller quantities of heavier elements, including oxygen, carbon, neon, and iron.
The Sun is a G-type main-sequence star (G2V) based on its spectral class. As such, it is informally and not completely accurately referred to as a yellow dwarf (its light is closer to white than yellow). It formed approximately 4.6 billion years ago from the gravitational collapse of matter within a region of a large molecular cloud. Most of this matter gathered in the center, whereas the rest flattened into an orbiting disk that became the Solar System. The central mass became so hot and dense that it eventually initiated nuclear fusion in its core. It is thought that almost all stars form by this process.
The Sun is roughly middle-aged; it has not changed dramatically for more than four billion years, and will remain fairly stable for more than another five billion years. It currently fuses about 600 million tons of hydrogen into helium every second, converting 4 million tons of matter into energy every second as a result. This energy, which can take between 10,000 and 170,000 years to escape from its core, is the source of the Sun’s light and heat. In about 5 billion years, when hydrogen fusion in its core has diminished to the point at which the Sun is no longer in hydrostatic equilibrium, its core will undergo a marked increase in density and temperature while its outer layers expand to eventually become a red giant. It is calculated that the Sun will become sufficiently large to engulf the current orbits of Mercury and Venus, and render Earth uninhabitable. After this, it will shed its outer layers and become a dense type of cooling star known as a white dwarf, and no longer produce energy by fusion, but still glow and give off heat from its previous fusion.
The enormous effect of the Sun on Earth has been recognized since prehistoric times, and the Sun has been regarded by some cultures as a deity. The synodic rotation of Earth and its orbit around the Sun are the basis of solar calendars, one of which is the predominant calendar in use today.
Planets that orbit two suns instead of one might be deadly hell worlds, but new discoveries reveal that sci-fi star systems with binary stars might be optimal places for alien life.

Always bringing little bat-toys, with his bad boys, which is so annoy-ying,
You can’t even beat a clown so, how are you supposed to be beat a king?
Chorus: In Wakanda, we know how to party. In Wakanda, we know how to party. But Gotham City is never safe. (where’s their protector?) In Gotham City, it’s a bad place. Cause he could never stop them. (echo – he could never stop them)”

Your gonna be like the enemy, wondering why that he’s a step ahead, (I’m Batman) Your gonna run to your mommy when you try to take on the main Batman,

Bella is an 11-year-old black cat with diabetes who waited six months before being placed in foster care. Black cats have lower adoption rates and tend to sit in shelters longer. Reasons for this range from superstition to not showing up well in photographs.
As of Nov. 21, the Instagram hashtag #cats has 74.2 million posts. Only five of the first 100 posts were of black cats. Older cats also tend to have lower adoption rates.
Bella’s original owner was disabled and lived with his father. The father took care of Bella, but he became ill. No longer able to properly care for Bella, they surrendered her to the pound.
Since January she’s been fostered by Cami Slaubaugh. Up to that point Slaubaugh only fostered dogs, but a post on the Homeward Animal Shelter Facebook page said they had cats that needed to get out of the shelter with Bella being the most urgent. She struggled, and with diabetes, she had internal issues.
Slaubaugh said Bella gradually grew more comfortable with a different routine and being around her dog, a 3-year-old, 75-pound Rottweiler. “I think she would do better where she could be the only pet, but if you have a dog or another cat, she could get used to it,” Slaubaugh said.
Bella needs to eat a dietetic management food that contains more protein and fewer carbohydrates. Slaubaugh gives her half a can twice a day. After Bella eats, she is given insulin shots in the neck area or between the shoulder blades. Slaubaugh pulls up the skin to make sure the needle gets under the skin. Slaubaugh said it’s important to keep the meals as close to 12 hours apart as possible to keep her blood sugar stable.
“A lot of people think that’s going to be really difficult, but you’d be surprised at realistically how much of a routine you live in, and how easy it is. ‘Well, I get up at the same time every morning. She can eat her breakfast then.’ Then at night, I can give her supper at 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. or whatever it is.” Bella can have treats, but only high protein meat like freeze-dried chicken.
It’s estimated that up to 2 percent of the feline population has diabetes. Slaubaugh said people shouldn’t be daunted by the prospect of adopting a special needs pet. “She’s so sweet and has a lot of love to give,” Slaubaugh said. “She definitely deserves to find the right home.”
Check out the video about Bella. For more information on how to adopt or foster cats and dogs, visit Homeward Animal Shelter at homewardonline.org/adoption-foster-info/.

How the Universe Works – Blow your Mind of the Universe – Space Discovery Documentary
The formation and evolution of the Solar System began 4.6 billion years ago with the gravitational collapse of a small part of a giant molecular cloud. Most of the collapsing mass collected in the center, forming the Sun, while the rest flattened into a protoplanetary disk out of which the planets, moons, asteroids, and other small Solar System bodies formed.
This model, known as the nebular hypothesis was first developed in the 18th century by Emanuel Swedenborg, Immanuel Kant, and Pierre-Simon Laplace. Its subsequent development has interwoven a variety of scientific disciplines including astronomy, physics, geology, and planetary science. Since the dawn of the space age in the 1950s and the discovery of extrasolar planets in the 1990s, the model has been both challenged and refined to account for new observations.
The Solar System has evolved considerably since its initial formation. Many moons have formed from circling discs of gas and dust around their parent planets, while other moons are thought to have formed independently and later been captured by their planets. Still others, such as Earth’s Moon, may be the result of giant collisions. Collisions between bodies have occurred continually up to the present day and have been central to the evolution of the Solar System. The positions of the planets might have shifted due to gravitational interactions. This planetary migration is now thought to have been responsible for much of the Solar System’s early evolution.
In roughly 5 billion years, the Sun will cool and expand outward to many times its current diameter (becoming a red giant), before casting off its outer layers as a planetary nebula and leaving behind a stellar remnant known as a white dwarf. In the far distant future, the gravity of passing stars will gradually reduce the Sun’s retinue of planets. Some planets will be destroyed, others ejected into interstellar space. Ultimately, over the course of tens of billions of years, it is likely that the Sun will be left with none of the original bodies in orbit around it

Life is Fun – Ft. Boyinaband (Official Music Video)
Ahhh! Such a beautiful day
The sun’s shining in a beautiful way
gonna take a shower, brush my teeth and
Life is ultimately meaningless
but I’ll get out of the house
Get on the road, top down, hands out
Put on my favorite song and nod to the rhythm
The planet’s being destroyed by your carbon emissions
But I- I- , I’ll head to class
try my best on every test til I pass
and my grades are screaming in my face – Ayyyy
98 percent of what you learn is a waste.
I get to hang out with all my friends
My friends are the friendliest friends
Can’t think of a better way to spend my time
Your brain is flawed and all your friends will die
I’m alive in the greatest nation!
So proud of- the exploitation of natives
This graceful bird means freedom for all
Tell that to the slaves and bald eagles aren’t bald
I can live in the moment, milk every second
at any time you could get clinical depression
But I’ll just be happy, no matter what’s in store
it’s quite genetic and we have no cure
uhh- at least
We are young
not for long
Life is fun
It only goes downhill
We gotta make the most of it, Make the most of it
or you’ll regret it
We are young
Life is fun
for some people
We gotta make the most of it, Make the most of it
Woo! I got a brand new job today!
Doin stuff that’ll help the economy
I’ll save money and buy things at the store
Banks can crash and capitalism is flawed
And it’s all because of my hard work
And the thousand advantages you lucked into at birth
I put a lotta effort in my resume!
Good thing you don’t have a black person’s name
I’m proud to be a functioning member of society
Finally, I can be the citizen I dream to be
part of the community, contribute with my tax
What could possibly stop me?
The shrinking middle class
I’ve at least got a nice stable job
Until it’s outsourced to china or replaced by a robot
OH GOD- Well then I could relax a bit
You’ll be empty with nothing to distract from it
But man I’m a passionate graduate
I can be different and I have a career paths to pick from
I could be a rapper or an animator if I’m lucky
Neither of those will make you happy, trust me
I’m able to choose what I pursue
You’re a slave to people born richer than you
Then screw it, I’ll keep going in
then I’ll party on the weekend and sing
Thanks to autotune
Life is a wonder
You’ll never know the answer
Nature is a miracle
It’s good to be alive
You could wake up with cancer
But I’m healthy
Healthy people still get cancer
I love this show
It’s the last episode
The sun is shining
It’s going to explode
Every species is beautiful and unique though
Children have malaria thanks to mosquitoes
I met a cute girl with a ponytail
Statistically that relationship is going to fail
I have a wonderful family, it’s like no other
You’re not special and one day you’ll bury your mother
No matter what I can find a home!
We. Will. All. Die. Alone.
There’s amazing potential in every human on earth
There’s no escaping the heat death of the universe
I don’t have to live life based on negative parts
No matter how bad they are, they’re just thoughts
Yeah that’s fair
yeah that seems reasonable
wait-wait-wait-wait but you were just telling me
whatever man, I dunno, live your life how you want,
I’m not forcing you to do anything, I’m just saying.
Oh…Well in that case…

The Teletubbies’ colourful appearance and playful antics make them especially appealing to pre-schoolers. With the Teletubbies’ help, children in early developmental stages will familiarize themselves with day-to-day basics as well as gain exposure to different cultures and activities. Now in full HD!
✩ Tinky Winky ✩
Tinky Winky is the first Teletubby. He is the largest of the Teletubbies and has a triangular antenna on his head. He is notable for his magic bag and is purple.
✩ Dipsy ✩
Dipsy is the second Teletubby. He is lime green and is named “Dipsy” because his antenna resembles a dipstick. He likes his black and white furry top hat, which he once lost. Laa-Laa found it, but instead of simply returning Dipsy’s hat to the stricken Dipsy, she ran around it for about ten minutes shouting “Dipsy Hat! Dipsy Hat!”. He is the most stubborn of the Teletubbies, and will sometimes refuse to go along with the other Teletubbies’ group opinion.
✩ Laa-Laa ✩
Laa-Laa is the third Teletubby. She is sunflower yellow, and has a curly antenna. She likes to sing and dance, and is often seen to look out for the other Teletubbies. Her favourite thing is a bouncy, orange ball, which is almost as big as she is.
✩ Po ✩
Po is the fourth and last Teletubby. She is the smallest and youngest of the Teletubbies, is rosy red, and has an antenna shaped like a stick used for blowing soap bubbles. Her favourite object is her scooter, which she calls “scoota”. Po can sometimes be mischievous and naughty, as when she disobeys the commands of the “Voice Trumpets”
✩ Noo-noo ✩
Noo-noo is the vacuum cleaner that hardly ventures outside, instead remaining indoors and constantly cleaning with its sucker-like nose. It does not speak like the other characters, instead communicating through a series of slurping and sucking noises. At times, Noo-noo gets annoyed with the Teletubbies’ antics and can vacuum their food or toys. This usually prompts the Teletubbies to scold Noo-noo through a cry of “Naughty Noo-noo!”.

Tsunamis are giant waves caused by earthquakes or volcanic eruptions under the sea. Out in the depths of the ocean, tsunami waves do not dramatically increase in height. But as the waves travel inland, they build up to higher and higher heights as the depth of the ocean decreases. The speed of tsunami waves depends on ocean depth rather than the distance from the source of the wave. Tsunami waves may travel as fast as jet planes over deep waters, only slowing down when reaching shallow waters. While tsunamis are often referred to as tidal waves, this name is discouraged by oceanographers because tides have little to do with these giant waves. The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami was triggered by a 9.3 magnitude earthquake with the initial surge wave of the tsunami measuring 33 metres. It was the largest earthquake-generated tsunami in history. Certain places in the world are subject to earthquakes and tsunamis more than others as there are only seven tectonic plates covering the earth and the borders of these plates lie in certain areas.
X-Men: Apocalypse: Quicksilver Saves Everyone From Exploding Mansion
In search of his father, Erik Lehnsherr, who is known to the world as Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Peter Maximoff (Evan Peters) arrives at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters just as an explosion begins to erupt from within it. Using his mutant ability to travel at supersonic speeds, Peter races through the mansion in search of his father but discovers that it’s about to blow up. Miraculously, due to his “gift,” he rescues everyone but one person from inside the mansion, who all total to dozens of people, in what he perceives as only about three minutes but is actually just a few seconds; even if it were three minutes, his feat would still be incredible. The one person whom he fails to rescue is Alex Summers (Lucas Till), who is known as Havok and who was consumed by the blast before Peter even shows up.

The Slice Ceramic Cutter Review (for artists)
This is just a quick video review comparing the Slice ceramic cutting tool against a cheaper alternative. The video is aimed towards artists who might use a knife as one of their tools.
I have been using the Slice for about a year after being introduced to it as an amazing alternative to using a craft knife on my work. I was aware that it might be a little too expensive for some people so I thought I would compare it with a cheaper option that is on the market.

Why people believe they can’t draw – and how to prove they can | Graham Shaw | TEDxHull
Why is it that so many people think they can’t draw? Where did we learn to believe that? Graham Shaw will shatter this illusion – quite literally – in a very practical way. He’ll demonstrate how the simple act of drawing has the power to make a positive difference in the world.
Graham specialises in the art of communication and has helped thousands of people to make important presentations. He is perhaps best known for his use of fast cartoon drawings to communicate ideas and is the author of ‘The Art of Business Communication’.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
