Jake Stewart prepares for 1st QMJHL camp

Jake Stewart is working hard this summer on improving his skating as he prepares for his 1st Quebec Major Junior Hockey League training camp. The 16 year old Antigonish was slected by the Moncton Wildcats in the 3rd round of the QMJHL draft in Saint John in June and his goal is to crack the roster later this month. Stewart is a big physical forward who feels he needs to improve certain parts of his game and is now in Halifax working with power skating coach Jill Plandowski. If Stewart doesn’t make the Wildcats, he is likely to return to the Telus Cup champion Cape Breton West Islanders where he would play a key role. John Moore caught up with Stewart prior to a training session with Plandowksi at the Civic Arena in Halifax.
