►INFO : ANIMAL RESCUE
An animal rescue group or animal rescue organization is dedicated to pet adoption. These groups take unwanted, abandoned, abused, or stray pets and attempt to find suitable homes for them. Many rescue groups are created by and run by volunteers, who take the animals into their homes and care for them — including training, playing, handling medical issues, and solving behavior problems — until a suitable permanent home can be found.

►Rescue groups exist for most pet types (reptile rescue, rabbit rescue or bird rescue), but are most common for dogs and cats. For animals with many breeds, rescue groups may specialize in specific breeds or groups of breeds. For example, there might be local Labrador Retriever rescue groups, hunting dog rescue groups, large-dog rescue groups, as well as general dog rescue groups.
Animal rescue organizations have also been created to rescue and rehabilitate wild animals in inhumane situations, such as lions, tigers, and cheetahs. Many organizations are dedicated to saving wild animals that are used as sources of income in zoos, circuses, and other cruel circumstances.
Widely recognized as an umbrella organization for animal rescue groups, Petfinder.org is an online, searchable database of more than 13,000 shelters and adoption agencies across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The American Kennel Club maintains a list of contacts, primarily within breed clubs, with information on breed rescue groups for purebred dogs in the United States.
Animal shelters often work closely with rescue groups, because shelters that have difficulty placing otherwise healthy and pet-worthy animals would usually rather have the animal placed in a home than euthanized; while shelters might run out of room, rescue groups can often find volunteers with space in their homes for temporary placement. Some organizations (such as Old Dog Haven) work with older animals whose age would likely cause them to be euthanized in county pounds. Each year, approximately 3-4 million cats and dogs are euthanized in shelters due to overcrowding and a shortage of foster homes.

►In the United Kingdom, both shelter and rescue organisations are described using the blanket term rescue, whether they have their own premises, buy in accommodation from commercial kennels, or operate a network of foster homes, where volunteers keep the animals in their homes until adoption.
Kennels that have a council contract to take in stray dogs are usually referred to as dog pounds. Some dog pounds also carry out rescue and rehoming work and are effectively rescue groups that operate a pound service. Some rescue groups work with pounds to move dogs to rescues. By law, a dog handed in as a stray to a UK pound must be held for seven days before it can be rehomed or euthanized.

Rescue Of Starving Injured Dog Who Jumped Into My Arms

Rescue of a homeless dog with a broken leg – Howl Of A Dog Rescue Video www.HowlOfADog.org We were driving back home from the veterinary clinic when we spotted an injured dog limping on side of the road. We pulled over and rushed toward him, trying to stop him from going any further into the thick bushes. He was so desperate and the moment he saw us he seemed to have instantly realized we’re there to help him. We took him to the clinic to be examined and have an X-ray performed, but the results received were not good: he had a double fracture – the two bones of his front leg were broken and needed repair surgery. The vet estimated the fracture was at least one week old. Vlad was also severely emaciated, we can only imagine how hard it was for him to survive for so many days without food and with that painful broken leg. He was so hungry when we found him that he desperately grabbed a box of tissues we had in the car and tried to eat them.
He underwent repair surgery and the fractured bones were fixed with metal plates and screws. The procedure was a complicated one, but everything went well and Vlad made a beautiful recovery. Vlad is a young dog, approx. 2 years old, he’s neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. He’s full of joy and finds so much fun in everything he does. He really loves life and longs to find a home where he can live happy and smile for the rest of his life. He is in our care in Romania but can also travel abroad to the USA, Canada and Europe. So if you have a loving home for him please check our adoption procedure here: www.howlofadog.org/adoption-procedure/ and email us at contact@howlofadog.org . Thank you!

Be Amazed at these incredible bridges! Banpo Bridge, Korea – Banpodaegyo Bridge is most famous for the Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain which runs along 570 metres of its length on both sides. Devil’s bridge, Germany – Known as Rakotzbrucke, this stunning stone bridge was commissioned by a knight in 1860. Moses Bridge – The West Brabant Line is dotted with 17th century forts and many were surrounded by moats which were deep enough to protect from marauders but too shallow for boat travel. Rolling Bridge, England – At Paddington Basin in London, this 12 metre bridge connects low-lying paths without encumbering river access to the surrounding buildings and offices. Designed by the prolific Thomas Heatherwick, this bridge unfurls via the use of concealed hydraulic pumps. Slauerhoffbrug, Netherlands – Another rather extraordinary example of a moving bridge, this bridge in the Netherlands nicknamed by some as the ‘terminator bridge’ or ‘flying drawbridge’ actually retracts a whole section of road in order to let river traffic through. It does this as many as 10 times a day. The Millau Viaduct, France – This amazing bridge is widely considered to be one of the world’s finest and it was the world’s tallest bridge with a high point of almost 350 metres above the ground until China’s Duge bridge seized that accolade in 2016. Ponte Vecchio, Italy – This gorgeous historical bridge in Florence is noteworthy because of the shops built into its stoney construction. This bridge actually first appears in a document dated to 996.

Akashi-Kaikyo, Japan – This extremely beautiful bridge situated near Kobe, Japan, is the world’s longest suspension bridge with a total length of 3,911 metres. Golden Gate Bridge, USA – The Golden Gate Bridge is an internationally recognized symbol of the USA and is one of the country’s most important architectural works. Multnomah falls bridge – You only have to glance at this bridge to see that it’s a bit special. Duge BridgeChina – In this modern era of bridge building, huge and mightily tall bridges are possible to build with what seem like next-to-no supports. Siberian Bridge, Russia – Trift Suspension Bridge, Switzerland – Overlooking spectacular views of the Swiss Alps is this pedestrian-only suspension bridge. Living root bridges, India – Cherrapunji in Northeastern India is one of the wettest places on Earth and hosts an extraordinary tree named the Ficus elastica. Magdeburg Water Bridge, Germany – Jiangzhou Immortal Bridge, China – Natural arches are the bridges of nature and some of these awesome rock formations have existed for several millennia. LEGO Bridge, Germany – This quirky bridge is fortunately not created from actual giant plastic lego bricks but is instead a concrete bridge painted by street artist Martin Heuwold.
